Brazil are beatable,
Not by Iceland they ain't. If we play Brazil, we will go into it knowing we will lose, and they will go in knowing they will win, and both will be correct.
And thats exactly how Wimbledon lost to Liverpool in the 1988 FA Cup fina...oh, hold on a minute smile

See your own Dennis Wise for details.

Wimbledon were better than England.

I can understand Hart not going, but strange on Wilshere. Not his biggest fan, but kept himself fit this season and does offer something different to Dier and Henderson.

Lots of rumors of Livermore, Welbeck and Delph making the squad.

I would take Shelvey - he's a tw@t but he also offers something different to every other midfielder we will take. He was pretty much the driving force behind Newcastle's decent season and I know from his time at Swansea he can do some pretty incredible things no-one else in the squad could.

The issue is his temperament.

Agreed, st midfield and Wilshere should have gone!
rofl

If we were to make the QF, that's 5 games in 2/3 weeks. Yeah, that's right up Wilshire's street!!! If it was 5 games in 2/3 seasons, then I'd say take Wilshire.

A very beige squad indeed.

Standby list also very uninspiring.

Six of those should be nowhere near the squad.

Thought after hearing that Southgate had dropped Hart & Wilshere that he would be different but picking the likes of Young, Welbeck and Jones tells me otherwise.

On the positive side all 3 keepers are young and very good...and Kane is a top class striker...

Midfield is as poor as I can remember. How did Wilshire not make the squad but Wellbeck did?

Would have liked to have seen Shelvey and Wilshire for a bit of creativity in midfield.

I can't because the alternatives are also pretty mediocre.

Yeah, only 2 bookings all season, so way down the bookings list, 60-something on the list for this season.....

But...........he tops the red card list for the season with 2 reds, so I suspect that's what has gone against him.

Agree he's a tw@t, but also agree that he should have gone for that 'option from the bench' as we're otherwise lacking in that department.

If Southgate manages to get that team/squad beyond the group stage it will be borderline miracle stuff.

I've only seen Shelvey once this season and his repertoire consisted of aimlessly hoofing the ball as high in to the air and as far down the pitch as he could, bypassing most of his teammates and hoping someone got a knock down.

If that's all he's got, it's an option from the bench I'd rather we didn't have.

If he was having a bad game and he's actually a bald Iniesta then I apologise.
