Sounds like the only thing stopping the deal being done is Miki....

Wenger also said wages for Micky wouldn't be a problem. Suspect they have both done their last training sessions and said goodbye, we'll both want them registered in time for the weekend

A brilliant gesture by the man. Thoroughly deserved.

If I ever see him wandering around the Northern Quarter I'll definitely buy him a sugar-free grande vanilla latte (with soy milk obviously) and avocado on toast.

Absolutely a class act. Always has been. Ridiculous talent, as well, when you think how much he has achieved despite being small, weak and slow.

Sanchez could donate £50k per week to charity and never miss it one bit . Scary wages.

Good point. How many of your team have signed up?

They can't, they play for nothing.

I’m not, the club is going to pay him a lot though. The overall deal is a damned sight less than a normal deal for a top player of £160m made up of £100m + £60m wages (£250k x 52 x 4 1/2 years) versus £129m which is £35m + £94m wages (£400k x 52 x 4 1/2 years)
We’re getting him for relatively peanuts in today’s market so the remainder of the usual >£100m fee is being used to make sure we get him. I suppose it’s all about good business sense once you decide you want the player.

This describes things pretty well:

It’s not United who made the football financial world go stupid but we can easily afford to keep up now it has.
