Didn't Ferguson recommend his Board target Klopp....only to find Liverpool got there first?

I may have misread.

The queue at the unemployment office in Liverpool should go down by at least one as a job has become available for a welder to put the roof back on an open top bus.

I really don’t understand the piss-taking. Liverpool got to the final. We didn’t even get close. They have had a much better season than us.

We don’t want to start being the kind of loser fans that take pleasure in other clubs falling short. Let’s focus on our own failings and the need to improve.

Because there’s a strong rivalry there, retain,y the biggest in English football. Can you imagine the nightmare we’d be having if they won? A lot of the pisstaking is relief. They got to the final, which is great, but not winning it ultimately means that the journey there means fk all, just like our defeats in finals a decade back.

We’ve done our failings to death and until something starts happening in the transfer market there’s isn’t much to talk about.

It’s the love-in with the scousers on here that most amazes me sometimes. And give me the Spuds over Arsenal and Chelsea any day. Short memories and all that.

It’s the posters on here that mean we seriously dislike the Spuds, I’ve no love for most Scousers, but know the odd one personally too. Won’t stop me ripping the piss though. It’s a shame they can’t have a sensible discussion though, too much victim mentality. How long before they start demanding compensation, one of them is already bleating about the trip to the final costing him a year’s wages, I’m sure he means benefits though.

You're confusing a few idiots with most fans. You said something like many fans were saying Karius did it deliberately. I'd challange you to find more than one poster saying it, as there was no others.

I'd also say I think ORD has a lot more class than some of you. Look at the amount of crap posted about us compared to what was done about you losing to Chelsea, and if we're the always victims then at least we've been a bit more classy to you lot. I agree a lot of Liverpool posters were a bit cocky before the game, but if you don't believe and get excited about a game like that beforehand then you probably should stop watching football. The Spuds are probably even worse, making fun of Klopp's final record etc. Yet they haven't been to a final in so many years, despite having a much better team. They'll win the league nexgt year if they got Bale apparently. At least you lot have been to finals and won recently, so you can actually make fun of a team failing at the last.

No love-in here! I dont like the Scousers one bit, but there’s something very loserish about not recognising courage and success. Liverpool tried to win the CL; we didn’t. Taking the piss out of someone for falling at the last is a bit cringeworthy when you weren’t even in the race.

Sorry, but the vast majority of United fans hate the scousers with a passion. I’m totally with Neville on this one. And would expect exactly the same from the scousers had we lost. It’s a long standing rivalry.

And? You were the best losers in the CL and provides a wonderful night of entertainment - for all the “right” reasons. And you scraped CL for next season. And you’ve not won a trophy for how long now?

No, I said “a few” as evidenced below. What I did say was that none of you (bar one) were picking him up on it and deriding him for it / defending Karius.

I still think you’re a bunch of whingers. Players get injured, players get sent off, players make mistakes, sometimes it goes for you, sometimes it goes against. You suffered all the bad luck in one hit, but from my side it’s pretty funny.

You lot didn’t post much about us losing the FA Cup as you knew it could come back and bite you, some did post though. I don’t think you could imagine quite how spectacularly it could back fire.

Gavia said:
I can’t believe that a few on here are claiming that Karius has taken a bribe, worse still is that the only posters (other than wjb) aren’t picking them up on it and defending Karius for that at least.

I see the argument is still raging around the Ramos / Salah incident, despite the photo stills showing who locked arms with who.

That was the first post. You then said this:

Gavia said:
I was defending Karius, unlike many of you on here who seem to give tacit approval to the suggestion that he’s taken a bribe. One of you is even complaining that he didn’t try to stick his arms out to save the Bale overhead. It was past him before anyone had time to move, as well as him needing 10foot arms to get anywhere near it from where he was standing.
I can see why you say some of us are whinging, which is true. But it's not that much different to you lot saying Chelsea didn't deserve to win, they had 9 men behind the ball etc. Even your manager said it, which is bloody ironic considering he has used that tactic many a time.

And if we didn't make much of it then because it might come back and bite us, then we might as well go to town now given the posting since we lost, wink I personally didn't say much because you got a lot further than us, and so how can we slag you off for having got much closer than we did. If we did better than you then it's open season, if a club got further I might be happy they didn't win, but fair play on them having done more than we did.

(To be fair I agree with some of them, but this being PH and since you're a United fan I have to disagree with them all).

You can’t be saying it, if it’s tacit, by definition it’s unspoken. My point wasn’t that you were all being explicit, it’s that you were being implicit.

I don’t think many of us were slating Chelsea, we were all hugely critical of our performance, so there’s not much WUMing you can do when we were generally slating our team too. However, instead of analysing your teams performance (which wasn’t great), most of you are clutching at straws around the score being 1-1 without the mistakes. You’re ignoring the fact that you might not have gone up the other end and scored, as you didn’t have to and equally that either team could’ve scored other goals.

You had a lot of bad luck, but given how often you bang on about 5 times, when you last won it over a decade ago and the time before that was 35 years ago, then you can’t be surprised that we’re enjoying this. There were many of you IRL as well as a few on here who were talking as if it was a done deal, it wasn’t.

Ahem... (on the spuds thread - I am on double pages so not sure if it works): https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

NRS said:
Real deserved to win yesterday, they were the better team for a lot of the match. Obviously the Salah injury had a big impact in that it weakened our front 3 who rely on each other for movement/ to make chances for each other. Lallana doesn't offer that in the same way. It also meant Real had to play less defensively to counter our threat. Defence did very well, particularly considering previous form. Strangely enough we "would have" (ignoring the game would not play out the same way) got a draw if it wasn't Karius' mistakes.
I guess the only thing in football more than us mentioning the 5 CLs though is you lot mentioning it has been x many years since we last won the league (and stuff like your ex-keeper winning it, having a kid and the kid winning it etc). I do agree about some of the posting before. It was a bit strange to me the way people seemed to assume we would win. Good to be optimistic, a bit silly the wording of some of the posts though.
