We tried that already...

Ok, her name isn't Cherry and they spelt Cola wrong, but they almost got it..

It's Alex Greenwood, Ladies team captain, in action against Liverpool today in a preseason game (but it's behind closed doors, sadly).

Imagine how pissed off jose is that ed wouldn’t spend an extra 5m to get perisic .

He could teach Martial a thing or two about attitude and effort.

Chuffed for Pogs, wanted Croatia to win it but glad he did himself justice in the final. Great goal, good performance, and missed a sitter to remind us all who he plays for laugh

Now, Ed, about Perisic...

4 players have won the World Cup whilst playing for United. Nobby Stiles, Bobby Charlton, John Connelly and now Paul Pogba. smile

I'm pleased for him but I hope it kicks him on at Utd and Jose. He's still too slow and lazy at times but he shows glimpses of greatness. Maybe him and Freddie will click too. Exciting times

Pogba was exceptional second half, quiet in the first, but overall he certainly enhanced his reputation in Russia.

I hope we can hold onto him.

£90m was a steal, with hindsight.

The Pogba haters will find some way to explain it away, but he’s one of the most important players in a WC winning side. They managed to slate him despite him being our best player last season.

Pogba has always had quality
Key is France are getting out of him ...Jose at the moment is struggling

Rather than hazard money would bebbettet spent on Kante and matuidi

He played with a discipline for France that's been all too frequently lacking in a united shirt. if he adds that to his game consistently next season then we'll improve dramatically.

Having Kante alongside him certainly helped.

To me he seemed to be playing deeper for France than we’ve seen at OT where he’s been pushed up just behind the strikers. I suppose that’s going to limit the through balls he can play.

There's also the fact that for France he has Mbappe running onto his diagonal passes left to right - for us we don't have that pacey option out wide right. Play the same pass for Mata that he played for Mbappe and watch what happens.

France are set up very well to get the best from PP, we have not been. Hopefully Fred helps, but we still need the right sided flyer.

Martial
Rashford
Lingaard
Sanchez?

Surely 1 could do it

You would think, yet Sanchez, Rashford and Martial seem to rotate on the left only. Well, I say rotate, I mean Sanchez gets 95%, Rashford 5% and Martial warms the bench. In fairness Rashford has been tried there and it didn't really work, Sanchez I think briefly also (same result).

Lingard does sometimes play there, but tends to drift around all over the shop. In principle he has the pace and movement to make it work but it also needs the manager to want it to happen so that is possibly also part of the problem - cant make the runs if you are being told to work back and defend.

Lukaku played out wide right for a while in one of Belgium's games too, I forget who against, and seemed to do alright.

Really was expecting that position to be sorted this summer, so time will tell. Perhaps we are waiting for a youngster to come through, iirc Tahith Chong plays out on the right and is a very exciting prospect - he's gone on the preseason tour too.

I thought Pogba played pretty much the same for France as he does for Utd, just with the benefit of more counter attacks to use his power and passing.

Many people are so caught up in the narrative that he has under-performed that facts no longer matter.

I would think Rashford or Martial could do it on the right, if they pushed and stayed up on the defender. We often have our players dropping deep to pick up a pass. Lingard is better floating and making those runs which make him hard to pick up.

I see Blind has gone to Ajax. Good solid pro, technically very good, just a shame he was lacking in pace. Hope he does well at Ajax.
