Have you not seen the cringe fest they're calling a documentary?
No. Why would I bother watching that? And doesn’t change the fact that they have fans to troll.

Why would anyone bother trolling the city thread? 1) they only have 2 or 3 posters & 2)[b] their posters don’t come across as though they believe they have a god given right to win everything every year. [\b]

And Arse fans have enough problems to deal with without anyone needing to troll them laugh
I’m sorry, you seem to have us confused with the Scousers. It is their year after all.

The Spuds and Scousers know they have only a short time to WUM before we finish above them again and they have to go quiet for a bit.
To be fair, some of them are pretty constructive, especially some of the scousers on here - it hurt saying that. But there are some posters who are clearly here as WUMs/ABUs.

Well you are slowly turning in to us laugh

You never know, this year might just be your year to get successful again wink

I know. It’s been a year since we won anything. Terrible.

This seems to have all got out of hand a bit frown

I post on most of the football threads (but 90% on my own teams) because I am interested in football in general and of course what is going well or badly at other big clubs impacts mine. Plus I like a general natter.

Have never tried to WUM as that is tedious in the extreme, my contribution to the ABU debate wasn’t intended to WUM either - might have been interesting but seems to have turned to mud slinging so I will bow out until a different topic of interest crops up.

Would be nice if fans just talked about their own teams on their own threads rather than being boring over and over again trying to get a bite. Nobody is stupid we all know city are the team to beat, no one else. I'd understand if city fans came on giving it large as they'd probably have the right to do so...

Probably from 1998-2012 I agree (once again) that there were a lot of ABUs who resented Utd's success. However, the ABUs have almost totally disappeared along with the success. United supporters almost try to attract ABUs to recreate the glory years in their heads.
I’m an ABU, but not because of the success, more the arrogance that overcame some of their players and supporters in those successful years. It’s now ingrained into their fans, and it’ll take a while and a new generation until that is weeded our hopefully.

Added to which they now have a manager who just fits the bill ... arrogant. They deserve each other!

Isn’t our manager the one that brought your team a lot of success and your first title in 50 years? I don’t particularly like JM being at United, but you Rentboys seem very fickle.

It’s interesting that you see arrogance in this thread, as not many of us are overly confident about the upcoming season. There might be the odd bit of bluster, but that’s about it. Now compare that to a team whose last title was nearly 30 years ago, a whole generation and then some ago, yet their arrogance remains. It’s always their year. Do you WUM their thread?

I think most do, there's a few exceptions from each side to be fair but so long as the former out number the latter then we will all be okay laughbeer

The thing is that’s not really true. The best you get is a post that’s really just a poorly disguised WUM.

No I'm pretty sure it's true. Most posters on here just want to chat football. There's a few that just want to wind people up but they are in the minority imo.

I’m not convinced. Certainly you Spuds have an annoying habit of WUMing and then backslapping each other with alarming regularity.

M3sye may claim otherwise, but all his posts are designed to elicit a response to a passive aggressive posting style.

Let’s see what happens when this topic is forgotten after the weekend and how quickly the WUMing starts again. Win, lose or draw for United you’ll be back either mocking a poor result, or slating our style of play, or that we were lucky to score 5 and the opposition should’ve scored 8.

As I said, not a lot in it.

Whilst £190m is not peanuts, in today's market it's only two or three top players.

But yes, both are obscene amounts of money, but no different to what PSG, Barca or Real spend.

My issue (To be serious) is people go on as though City are the only club to spend big money.

How much have Liverpool just spent on their new keeper?
Difference is that Us and Liverpool spend money that is self generated, not a bottomless pit of money from an owner.
Stop trotting this silly nonsense out. biggrin

Both United and Liverpool also have billionaire owners, City's money is now fully self generated, if you include the TV money which all premiership clubs get.

Yes, Sheikh Mansour did pump a lot of money in during the first few seasons agreed.

Average attendances are in excess of 50,000, when they won the league in 1968 (I went to virtually every match home and away) the average attendance at Maine Road was around 36,000.

I think there are very few current United players that would walk straight into City's team these days.

The bit in bold is exactly the point I’ve been making. It has nothing to do with the discussion that was being held around spending, but in comes the little WUM at the end to try to bring out a response.

I certainly don't pop into your thread to wind anyone up, that's schoolboy stuff, for the record I hope United do well this season, I just can't see it.

I was just stating my honest opinion.

You’re missing the point completely. The whole discussion was about ABUs both media and Joe Public. You brought success or not into it.

The fact that you, a group of Spuds, a theft (is that the correct collective noun) of Scousers, a brace of City fans (their entire Supporters Club) and a lone Plymouth fan (I mean seriously what have United got to do with your club’s situation?) are here is proof that ABU exists. Do they troll the City forums to the same extent? What about the Arsenal threads and so on?

The reality is that it’s only this thread where supporters of lots of separate clubs all come on to attempt to WUM.

Edited by Gavia on Friday 17th August 14:12
There are multiple collective nouns for Scousers. First time I've heard "a theft" previously it's been "a murder" is in of crows. Or "an expectation" as in of victims and patients. I like theft though.
