Can’t see him lasting too long - feels like the 3 year itch is coming to an end. Don’t know how true it is, but I’ve been told that the Glazer’s have not refused any player he’s asked for (perhaps Woody has fked up/some weren’t available), and he only asked for a CB very late in the day. Sounds like an engineered move away to me.
It’s not sustainable as things stand - something has to stand.

He's a proper scumbag, i dont get why a) top clubs deal with him b) the player doesnt tell him to STFU
c) why the player doesn’t ask for 50% of that obscene “agent fee” Utd paid himd) why the player doesn’t realise the agent is hugely incentivised to destabilise and move him often

How did we ever get into a position whereby a parasite agent is calling the shots over one of the biggest clubs in the world. Something needs to be done but im not sure what.
I always find it very odd that clubs pay these agents surely the player should pay their own agent.
Very easy to stop
EU love transparency and have been regulating for it in financial markets like crazy, a simple analogy:
Financial advisors can no longer be paid by product manufacturers for distributing, the client pays less for the product and the FA has to charge the client direct - client pays the same but sees where payment goes.
Ergo....
Sports agents - cannot be paid by clubs, sponsors or anyone other than their client. Club has to play sign on fee to player and player/agent contract stipulates what % goes to agent.
This goes for any sportsman living or working in the EU regardless of the domicile/nationality of player or agent
Job jobbed
Caveat 1 - think the EU might be a bit tied up on other matters right now
Caveat 2 - quite rightly, law makers tend to focus on protecting the uninformed and vulnerable man on the street - so scumbag millionaire agents and spoilt brat millionaire walking tattoo walls are probably low down on the priority list

Anyway it’s a mess and Jose and the players need to sort it out quickly ,give us something to cheer about .
You'd think there could be a place in football for a decent agent, a guy that just wants to earn a fair wage without having to push his players on every couple of years.
I'd genuinely be content with somewhere between £50k - £100k a year just to set these deals up and have a happy player / happy club / happy agent relationship. I met an agent last year who looks after three Premier League players and he seemed a nice enough bloke but I fear he was the exception rather than the rule. All the major big name agents seem to be shysters.

Roy Keane / GNev has the right idea. Employ a top top top level solicitor and pay their hourly rate. Can't help but feel the clubs have gotten what they deserve, to be honest. Agents wouldn't be necessary if the clubs weren't doing the upmost to keep as much to themselves - as an example look at Ibrahimovic's move to Ajax, the fall out from which put him in Raiola's camp. Don't get me wrong, Agent behaviour is a massive issue now, but scumbaggery begets scumbaggery.I'd genuinely be content with somewhere between £50k - £100k a year just to set these deals up and have a happy player / happy club / happy agent relationship. At the end of the day the amount of money in the game is going to attract the worst sorts, and since some of them are actually in charge of legislating and running the thing the odds of the situation improving are slim. The only thing I can see happening are certain agents making themselves such persona non grata at so many clubs that they can't operate - but then either the clubs give in if they start to struggle, or the next shark agent comes along and it starts again.

Or
95% of them are perfectly nice, look after their clients, guide them honestly and don’t make the press
5% are crooks and make great copy
A close friend rents some apartments to some premier league players ,most of the players and their agents are aholes.95% of them are perfectly nice, look after their clients, guide them honestly and don’t make the press

They really are a pointless cancer on the game, most of them are glorified babysitters for players who don’t know how to boil a kettle .

There’s history with Scholes and Pogba. It was scholes return after retiring that prompted Pogba to move on as he felt his opportunity was being blocked by Scholes. Gavia said:

I know what you mean by that but would they really know how to negotiate the best contract for you? Like someone has said before agents know who is getting paid what all over, would a top level solicitor know this ?m3sye said:

That’s the challenge. Do you want to negotiate based on how much someone else is earning or your true value? Agents prey on this and their ability to tie up lucrative commercial contracts. Those sometimes prevent a player from moving to one club as the club is sponsored by a competitor. That’s complete bks IMO. The other thing is that agents literally have people who do everything for a footballer. As franki says, some footballers can’t boil a kettle without help.
