aha, all part of the masterplan. Reduce pressure in the critical part of the champions league campaign. whistle

Seriously though, what a st. It's not the penalty (although "Phil Jones Misses" was the least surprising update of the evening), we should never let it get to that stage with the team that's out there. The players need to be asked as many questions as Jose, but ultimately it's down to him to sort it out and from what I can tell tonight was more the same - take the lead, piss away chances then cant be arsed and let the other team back in the second half. They will all get what they deserve in the morning, but will anything actually change?

Still, best revenues ever, so that's good. rolleyes

Congratulations to Derby and Lampard, a good start for his managerial career. Is it disingenuous to say that we're not as much of a scalp as it used to be? We seem to be easy pickings for championship level and promoted teams these days. Yeah, probably it is. Well done Frank and Jody, now make sure you do it to someone else.

There is going to be some grumpy fans here when the regular United fans do turn up.

I think today was always a bit of a issue after the news this morning. The players are going to be unsettled, and wondering which "side" to take, as it does look like Jose will not survive this season. But they don't want to look like problem players for any new manager. Not to mention any personal feelings about the different people themselves.

Can someone pass on Zidane’s contact details to Ed please?
I’ve had it with this constant bickering. He can’t get on with anyone, players, directors, agents, fans, media.

Genuinely haven't seen much of the football tonight as I've been out but I do know the result - did Utd put out a weakened team? I know Pogba was out obviously!

I seriously don't get Zidane as your 1st choice
Yes his record was great ( but look at his team)

He does not like your current manager play football that allows the best players to play, surely you want an attack minded manager??

I was watching United so I didn’t see much football either except what the opposition were playing. Same old story, not a particularly weakened side but totally lacking in drive.
Dalot was a marked improvement on Valencia though.

Can't see them pulling the plug yet - just recently been given a public backing. God knows what else can be done though, really. We've still to get DDG on a contract and right now is he likely to sign? He's way better than the level we are managing right now and every step forward is followed by one back. Can't see him staying without some positive motivation.

This fecking hotel doesn't even have a bar. I mean FFS...

There just seems to be too much noise in the background now between Jose and the various other parties. I think if things don’t improve (which they haven’t for a while) then I can see him gone by Xmas.

Just looks as though he has lost the players and they don’t give a st anymore.

Not entirely serious. We do need an attacking style and I’d sacrifice a realistic chance of the Prem if needed. I’d happily accept a few seasons of only being ‘top 4’ with a chance of cups as long as they were playing well and entertaining. If I wanted pure tactical defense I’d take up chess.

There has been a lot of talk in the Man City thread about City fudging their attendance figures.

Not a chance there was anywhere near 55k at Old Trafford tonight.

It wasn't even a league game where season tickets automatically count.

From a betting perspective surely this is the most likely outcome now.

Surely no chance. Not least because Levy could effectively name his price.

His statement about Port and Real Madrid was just strange.

That was from last year, or maybe even the year before. They were strange, but not 'fresh' comments. He'll probably manage to top them.
