Bit confused about the last para but based on what I think you are saying I have to disagree ,if a manager says his priority is say a new centre half and say a left winger is his 5th priority but the club go and buy a left winger surely there is an issue there ?
He means if there are 4 or 5 names on the list for a LB and JOSE ok's them all but you can only get the name 4th down on the list that should be fine as he has ok'd the names.uk66fastback said:
I thought Maureen would give a list of players for THE ONE POSITION? And have three or four choices FOR THAT POSITION ...
It's surely a bit daft having ONE target for ONE position - and then not getting them - that's just called bad planning!
Alright ,pipe down shouty person .It's surely a bit daft having ONE target for ONE position - and then not getting them - that's just called bad planning!

TBH Klopp must be bloody good at convincing players to move as he has got everyone one of his 1st choices - and if they were not available at that time he has waited rather than buying 'next on the list'It's surely a bit daft having ONE target for ONE position - and then not getting them - that's just called bad planning!

I think the decision has been made....
Don’t know who the replacement is.
Really ?Don’t know who the replacement is.
Is that 'decision' in an imminent sense or in a 'if it goes crap for rest of season' sense?
Not sure what to think on the Zidane side. He's clearly done very well at Madrid to keep the house in order and of course winning 3 CL on the bounce is no mean feat, but I can't get away from the fact he also had world class players at the top of their game. Is he capable of rebuilding broken players and replacing the incapable ones?
At least he speaks the lingo of most of them - just the few UK ones that might have issues until he learned, but then no shortage of translators in the squad (as long as he picks the right ones).
Zidane: "defend in more numbers" in French. Translate that for me Paul
Pogba: "he says to attack.."

I agree, my thoughts on Zidane have always been that I'm not quite sure how good a manager, or more specifically a tactician he is. Inherited a world class squad. Can't take away from the 3 CLs on the bounce obviously but his tenure at Madrid was still shaky at times. But I feel like he's someone the players would respond to and want to play for - and that's what United currently need imo. The Madrid lads all looked up to him as a true legend of the game and wanted to perform for him. How can it feel to be working with mopey Maureen all the time? The atmosphere can't be good. Hence the performances. Not sure what to think on the Zidane side. It will cost a ridiculous amount to sack him ,how long is left on his contract ?
It will cost more if we don't get CL football....CL football per season is worth more than that as GTO-3R mentions - but you also have to factor in what we would need to pay his replacement on top of JM termination deal. Then the numbers start to get closer and if you consider that CL qualification cash is already down the pan (it's not, but the longer things carry on the way they are it could be by November) then the purely financial incentive for pushing him out diminishes.
