Sky Sources BREAKING NEWS half an hour ago said that you had asked for the first match to be played at Wembley.

I assume that the club already has the fixture list and is already putting the plan in place. The papers will be getting the fixtures tonight, the clubs must get them ahead of them.
GPWM I'd imagine the "sources say" is code for "we're under embargo but..."

In other news, Spain have just sacked their manager (the chappy who's taking over at Madrid).

I also wouldn't be surprised if it's still more of a contigency plan. I doubt anything will happen, but a major malfunction in the next couple of months throws everything off.

Toby is open to staying apparently.

He doesn't have any choice in the matter.
I'm afraid that nowadays he does. We've all seen how a player desperate to get away can make it difficult for a club. See Berba for details.
Berbs left because United paid Levy's price.

If United (or anyone else) don't meet Levy's price, then Alderweireld will be staying.

He can't leave - someone has to buy him.

So explain what choice he has? Go on strike? Not get paid and have UEFA withold his registration for 2 years? He can refuse to sign a contract extension and encourage Spurs to sell him but if no deal is struck with another club, he'll be at Spurs at the start of next season.

"Yeah, why not?" said the Tottenham star. "I have two years left on my contract. I don't know what is going to happen."

He's just saying it exactly as it is.
That's true but when a player sulks it becomes intolerable to keep him. Berba sulked and wouldn't play for us. Levy got a great price but he had to sell him if only to bring the sorry saga to a halt.

Berba wanted out and to play for United. United wanted him. So it happened. We threatened United with a tapping up case so they paid what Levy asked for.

It's also happened with other players at other clubs if they want out and whilst the club hold the legal cards the reality is they will want to sell him. Going back to my point he does have a choice - to sulk and suddenly become 'not in the right frame of mind to play' or be professional about it. If he sulks and Levy doesn't want to sell him for £25m in 12 months time then he'll get his move.
He is being professional about it though. It's a non-story really. He hasn't signed a contract extension yet and he has 2 years left on his contract. I've yet to hear anything from him or his camp that he's unhappy or wants to leave. If he's still here in a year's time, he can leave for £25m or for free the following year. But his stock is going to drop dramatically if he sulks and doesn't play next season, so there maybe less demand for a 30yo who has barely played for 12months. Or clubs may think they'll just wait for the price to drop to £25m. Or he may lower his wage demands and Spurs may increase theirs, if it looks like he has no better suitors.

I expect the decision will come down to Poch and whether he's wants the money to re-invest and whether he wants to keep a player that won't commit to the forseeable future. Maybe we can't sign a suitable replacement and is Toby excels for one more season and helps us qualify for the CL again, that will be worth a lot more than any potential transfer this season.

Personally I don't think that we'll pay him what he wants but also no one will pay Levy what he wants hehe

It isn't happening until it comes up on the official site

And as for sky news

Either they say nothing and have 5 mis dead air or come up with a lot of BS
Exactly as newspapers. A white page or some journo making it up

Does this mean the "will they/won't they" rumours about Klopp and Poch leaving start up again? biggrin

I wouldn't mind if we run down the clock with Toby. He isn't exactly sulking and doing what Bale did to AVB by waiting at his office in the morning asking if he can leave yet.

Poch knows what he is doing apart from Sissoko.

I'm assuming they'll ask Fulham to swap and all is well in the world.

The Watford game was a Home match and got swapped to an away tie, Daniel Levy announced with thanks to the board of Watford and Richard Scudamore of the Premier League for their understanding.

Does that mean Fulham have said they won't switch grounds?
