Goal scoring strikers should get all the awards, the cash, the hot chicks and the fast cars. It is what it is.

The guy finished second in the Egyptian presidential election without even being on the ballot paper. KdB and De Gea have nothing on that.

Knocked into second place by Harry Kane.

It is shame that so few people voted for De Gea, though: objectively, he has probably been the best player in the league. He has made saves that no other keeper in the world would make and has made almost no errors. You can almost never say that kind of thing about a striker - they always miss some very easy chances.
Not often I agree with utd fans, but Dr Gea has been outstanding this season, I've watched a lot of their games, (some sort of strange psychological condition I have) and he has saved them more times than I can count. Just his presence is enough to guarantee a clean sheet most days.

An unflappable keeper like him is worth 10 points per season. If I could have any player to improve us it would be him, not KDB.

So he's second behind Mo for me.

I agree, DDG should have been MUCH higher up the standings. But not first!

Funnily enough Utd might not even win the most clean sheets this season - that might go to..... us!

Nah.

De Gea has done this season what De Gea does. He's fantastic, no doubt about it but he's not done anything out of his ordinary. I'm biased as fk but I think he's the best keeper in the world. Ederson has been brilliant too at times this season, albeit we've seen more of DDG than we have of Ederson. You could say that Ederson has made the difference for City this season in helping them win the Premier League.

De Bruyne has been the second best player in the league for me.

Agreed. I'd have him as our goalie in a heartbeat. He is pure class. Given his first season and how dodgy he looked (especially with crosses I think) it just goes to show, us footy fans know eff all sometimes about good and bad players.

I don't there is any serious despite that DDG is the best keeper in the world. Nobody who says "One of the best" ever mentions anyone else who is even close.

Prem is short of top keepers now, DDG is the best by a mile, but the ones who used to be considered the best such as Courtois, Cech, Loris and Hart are all very dodgy.

I'd even put Karius above those lot as he's slowly improving and they're all going backwards.

How do you determine "a lot better"?

Oblak another good one.

DDG has kept Utd alive for a couple of seasons but not sure how you make comparisons of different keepers at different clubs in different leagues.

Compare the number of world-class saves and the number of mistakes. DDG makes an unparalleled number of the former (by a country mile) and makes almost no mistakes. That is a rare combination. About half the amazing saves I have ever seen have been made by DDG in his relatively short time at Utd.

Purely subjective then. I agree DDG is very good but I think it's a stretch to say no-one else comes close.

Probably just means you watch a st load more of UTD than anyone else - then next after that you watch a hell of a lot more of the prem than any other league -

unless you are someone who watches week in week out the other leagues its so hard to say if he is the best - I would say he is the best in the prem but I could not really comment without watching more of the other league - I have seen him pull off some wonder saves this year but also seen him make a number of mistakes which get forgotten very quickly

Oblak, Neur, Alison etc are all very good keepers
