Given the dire state of our squad, surely wholesale changes on Saturday are in order?

Back 4 all need a rest, as do the front 3.

We're gonna struggle to rest the midfield frown I know top 4 is important, but I couldn't care less about playing stoke right now, keeping the team fit for Wednesday, and potentially the final, has got to be the priority.
Don't know where to look to see who is fit but it is a worry for sure. By my reckoning we need 5 points from our last three games, assuming Chelsea win their last four. I don't think we can afford to chuck games away.
I said a few days ago im nervous about 4th as i dont think its locked in, especially given one of our 3 is against Chelsea. If we lose to them then things get a bit twitchy but at least our remaining games are easier than theirs.
3 more points needed to guarantee 4th.
So even if lose against chelsea we just need a win at home to stoke or west brom.
Our much better goal difference helps.
We actually need 4 points which doesnt seem much but when we have to play Chelsea that could leave us needing 4 from 6 possible remaining points if Chelsea win all their games.
That depends on goal difference.
No it doesnt - if we get no more points were on 71 points and Chelsea can get a feasible 75 as they have 4 games left so we need 4 points to be sure and thats taking into account our superior goal difference.

They win their next game and we win ours were on 74 they are on 66 points

They win game 36 against us theyre on 69 and were still on 74.

If we lose both remaining games and they win they end up on 75 points and we get 74.

If they win their next game and we lose ours theyre on 66 points and were on 71. They beat us theyre on 69 and were on 71. Thats too close for my liking.

confused

So if we get 4 points, we're on 75. If Chelsea win all their games, they're on 75. So it's down to goal difference, which is what I said (before you said I was wrong and then said the same thing).

He's just coming to terms with the loss of his apostrophe key.

I was more pointing out 3 points could be insufficient - I agree goal difference is already a done deal in our favour if needed.

I want Klopp to field a strong team aganst Stoke with only a few changes. There are a maximum 5 games left in the season; we need to secure 4th and erase the West Brom cock-up. We are not exactly down to bare bones - the players need to make they get up for these league games in the same way as the CL.

Ask Rushie when he played 65 odd games back in the day. None of this cotton wool bullsh!t. Injuries can happen anytime, even when not playing.

Agree with you on that. I'm a firm believer that you should play your strongest team when possible, within reason of course.

Back in his days players covered 8km on average a game, now it’s nearer 11km - a 35% increase in distance for 20% less games - so players now cover about 550km a season whereas before it was about 480km a season.

Exactly, those days are gone, there will be a global meltdown if Salah, Virgil or Firmino get kicked off the park by stoke.

Football is vastly more taxing than it used to be. Players sprint faster, turn faster, jump higher - everything. Comparing playing now to playing back when players were fat and/or weak and/or hungover is just silly. The physical demands are much higher.

It's human nature to like things that don't carry a threat, and fear/hate things that do.

They are, but the medical science and the quality of the pitches is so far ahead nowadays. Not to mention physio, recovery, ahem, supplements...

Hey, we could all HAVE supported Liverpool...

Not "of". That makes no sense in the English language whatsoever in that sentence. And its not "should of", "could of" or "would of" anywhere, ever. It's "should've", "could've", "would've" - the " 've " is a contraction of HAVE ("should have", "could have", "would have").

If you're going to troll, at least do it in English. Have a nice day.

Exactly. Swings and roundabouts.

We need to secure 4th; we should field a strong team. Had we won at West Brom, then need wouldn't have been as pressing.

So we should field a strong team in order to secure 4th place so we can enjoy the Champions League next season at the risk of jeapordising winning the Champions League this season?

Send out a weak team Saturday, keep the quality to ensure a strong Roma side and then go for it against Chelsea and Brighton

Theres at least 8 players id be gutted if they got injured.
