I'd see failure as not being involved in the league or champions league in the middle of April.
Again with a caveat that if City do what they did last year I can't see what can be done.
I think he is actually taking a dig at the media not liverpool.Every article and former pro seemed to opine last season that given the money spent united should have won the league,the champs league and the inter galactic cup.His comments about liverpool to me imply ''well lets see if you criticize liverpool as much as you did me if they don't win everything.

I think we will get roasted this year if we don't win something.Maybe if we come within a point of the league and CL final - anything else will see the press and other fans pointing the finger.
