Posted on /r/LivepoolFC earlier - the XI players that currently aren't in our starting XI:

Better than half the league's first teams I'd bet. Decent looking midfield and a goal threat up front.

Beyond watching JM's press conference, and the angst of some fans, I didn't enjoy United losing as much last night as last week against Brighton.

At least they seemed to try last night, creating chances and playing a more attacking, high press style... but as we know, high pressing takes a lot of training to do successfully - we sign players and they don't get a game for weeks or months while they get this ingrained. You can't do it in a week, so expecting some sort of miracle was just daft.

This needed drumming in to them in the preseason, not in a week between games.

Wonder if JM stick with the style, or revert to type after the loss.
Well obviously it's easier watching them lose to Brighton, because the flip-side to the Spurs defeat was that Spurs won :-)

I think what was most interesting from the rant after the match was that Jose made the point that the press complain when he plays ste and loses and then they still complain when they play different ste and still lose. Did he pick Spurs to play that way against because he thought they'd lose and it would then justify his usual ste?

He's obviously a complete tosser, but the longer he stays the better. Sadly I doubt we'll see him beyond Christmas.

Article on our 'weak link' -

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/sport/the-game-...

Firmino isn’t only appreciated by Klopp and Salah but by all his team-mates. Klopp said last season: “I’m pretty sure if I gave the players the opportunity to have a free choice to build their own teams in training then he [Firmino] would be one of the first picks! That’s maybe the best way I can put it, the best thing I can say about a footballer.”

This still? Your desperation to prove he is the best CF ever is amusing to say the least. LFC supporters are already convinced and think he is irreplaceable, other supporters not so much. Posting a hundred links won't change the minds of either so not really sure what you are trying to achieve, just accept it and move on. smile

I am posting a thread of our player in our thread - if you have an issue with it or dont like it dont read it

Also no 1 has EVER said he is the best in the world, you know that but you like to twist things to suit, just like when you have gone on record about 50x saying how we have said we are going to win the league or its won already, when I dont recall anyone actually saying that...

But isn't that preaching to the converted? Surely LFC fans already think he's brilliant so who is that link trying to convince if not other supporters who frequent this thread? Putting the "weak link" in quotes sort of proves my point that it's a retort to a non LFC supporters post earlier in the thread.

I think thou doth protest too much. wink

The weak link comment was said in jest at this st we were reading the other day - the article was for whichever LFC fans wanted to read it...
Most who follow this thread know I post whichever articles I find interesting to read for other LFC fans to read - if you are not keen on them just ignore them like I would on the spurs thread - beer

Looks like Pot 3 for us for the CL draw. Not that it means much. Hope we don't get drawn into a group of death with Barca, Dortmund and Inter a possibility.

Looks like Ojo has been shipped off to france for the season, quite disappointing really as he's 21 yo now. Would have like to see him in some of the cup games. He signed an extension with but surely he'll get a but miffed off if he doesn't start playing for us eventually. Hope he does well over there.

I'm not bothered what pot we got, if we can't beat the best then we don't deserve to win it. I bet they're shtting themselves about getting us more.

Leicester this weekend. They're looking alright with 2 wins in 3. Confident we'll be good though if our energy is tip top.

Our squad is too strong for some youth now unless they are top draw ... it makes sense for Ojo, Kent, ejaria etc to go on loan

Could have been much worse!
Hopefully PSG perform as they usually do in the ECL.

A decent group but we will be expected to qualify atleast as runner-up.

Spurs on the other hand have a tough task to get out of their group.

Sound enough group, that. Be interesting to see how we fair against all 3. Looking forward to the CL, like last season.
