Just two people, Jacob Lawson and The Jiffle King, successfully predicted a Nigerian win, albeit they said 1-0 and 2-1 respectively.
It's made a movement at the top of the table as Jacob moves to within a point of the top two, E31 Shrew and Glover Mart.
Tonight's action is between Serbia and Switzerland. Probably the most difficult-to-gauge game so far with five going for Serbia, four for the Swiss and ten draws.

Well, only the second game in the last nine where both teams have scored. I heard on the radio today that this is the lowest scoring World Cup of all time; doesn't feel like it but there you go. In 26 games, both teams have scored in only ten of them...
Tonight's congratulations go to Brabus Mog and PHuzzy who probably leapt out of their chairs after the late winner from the Swiss. The other two went for a 1-0 Swiss victory, they were Dan 1981 and The Jiffle King.
Getting close now as we approach the halfway stage. One point separates top from third, just five points separate fifth from sixteenth. Been a good competition so far, don't forget to get your predictions for match round 3 on to the thread by 2pm on Monday...

Cheers Jiffle. Five people had 2-0 Mexico in that last match so they'll be cursing that "Son of a bh" for scoring a very late consolation for the Koreans. That goal meant that instead of collecting four points, they only grab one, and it also means that four different people score maximums. So well done to Gadgetmac (who had his first four-pointer at the 28th time of asking), PHuzzy, Oxford Drinker and a 'Thonner who's making a charge up the table. Brabus Mog has successfully predicted three maximums from his last five games after only having one in his first 23 attempts!
New leader too as Glover Mart regains top spot by a point from E31 Shrew. Shrew was one of only three 'Thonners not to score in that game, along with 48k and Black Can Man.
Next up is Germany v Sweden. No one has guessed a Sweden win with the Germans getting seventeen votes and two draws. The draws are from Mr Mog and Seventy, let battle commence!

Well, well, well....
As the clock ticked on to 94 minutes, there was Seventy and Brabus Mog poised to celebrate a hefty four points before Toni Kroos smashed home an unstoppable free kick to make it 2-1 to the Germans. At that point, another nine 'Thonners didn't know whether to laugh or cry as they had 2-1 in the game.
So congratulations go to Glover Mart, Ascayman, E31 Shrew, The Jiffle King, JWVW, Lotus Notes, Pommy and Jacob Lawson who all predicted 2-1. Well done lads, a bitter sweet feeling if I'm not wrong.
You may have noticed there's only eight names there. That's because the ninth player must have been the bearded tt that gave away the free kick. Step forward Black Can Man who finally achieved a four pointer at the 29th attempt, just one match after his old nemesis Gadgetmac got his first. And all because of a 90+5 German winner.
Just eleven points separate fourth place from bottom spot, really getting interesting now.
Here's your table, and BCM, thanks! Thanks a lot.

Unsurprisingly, not one 'Thonner guessed a 6-1 England win but I think everyone would willingly give up their points to be thrilled by that display.
All nineteen players went for an England win so no change from this morning's positions obviously.
Japan v Senegal a little trickier to call with five going for a Japanese win, three for Senegal and eleven draws.
