I came on to mock you guys wondering when they were presenting ye with the trophy. But I can't now to be fair, that's a flippin great goal. You can't win (metaphorically) if you're England though
England lose heavily= England are rubbish, never going to win anything
England lose by the odd goal= See above
England draw= England should have won that easily with their population/resources
England win by the odd goal= Doesn't prove anything, the other team didn't turn up/played badly
England stuff someone= The opposition were a pub team
The only criticism I had of last night was England didn't pace themselves and were hanging on by the end of the game. We've lost several games in the last twenty years or so by losing concentration in the last few minutes of the match. Still who've thought we'd beat Spain in Spain. Spain are arguably the most intimidating team in the world, and capable of making even quite decent sides look average by comparison.
