Been a ref against us twice and sent a player off both times.
But was he wrong? Tonight's decision looked about right to me. When Rice got his card there was an Italian about five yards from the ball. We were entitled to wait as long as we wanted until he got back to the required ten yards. Shaw opted to run past the ball that had been in play to pick up a dry ball that was further off, understandable when going for one of his long throw ins. Poor decisions both of them.

But was he wrong? Tonight's decision looked about right to me. Strange one from the ref, a few very iffy moments. Like when he and the linesman towards the end of the second half looked at each other after a corner hit someone on the front post and went out a good few seconds with no decision, neither had clearly seen it hit a player clearly, so they just gave a corner.
Maguire looked more comfortable when we were getting bombed, but he always looked like he was going to mess up when we were playing expansive. You just knew his distribution was going to cost. Rice absolutely monstered that game was easily the best player, we get the usual Bellingham plaudits during his moments but every ball into the front players Rice was all over it, glad Joe Cole called it because the fan boy England presenters always slobber over the star players.
