I remember some of the slagging off he got on here - so many people quick to have a go rather than believe in a player and give him time to settle.
Same with Keita, both will be HUGE players for us and will only continue to get better.

Who slagged him off?
Don't remember that
No need for name ousting but there was a couplewho were very quick to put him down and write him off after a couple of games -Don't remember that
This shocked me on Wijnaldum yesterday - so very underated
Georginio Wijnaldum had the most touches
Most passes
Won possession the most times
Most final third passes
Of any player on the pitch yesterday
He shows his quality more in that 3 for me too, the other 3 is too predictable for him....
Amazing how many UTD fans rate him as average, he absolutely walks into their team.

There's a difference between saying he hasn't done well in previous games with slagging him off/writing him off. It's like saying Robertson didn't have a good game crossing the ball against United. Doesn't mean he's rubbish, it means just what it says - he didn't do well in crossing against United. Fab was clearly a standout player against United, but he's not shown that previously. I don't even know if I'm one of the ones to slag him him, but I do remember thinking he hasn't shown anything special yet in previous matches.I remember some of the slagging off he got on here - so many people quick to have a go rather than believe in a player and give him time to settle.

Maybe I am just a little different then I have never expected a new players, in a new league, with a new style of play and language to start putting in amazing performances right away - I would expect him to be learning the pace, the way we play, a whole new way of life so I find it odd when people call out poor games, saying he is nothing special. Find it a bit of a massive insult to the back team who have obviously scouted him for 2 years+ that means watching EVERY game and who currently are pretty much pulling off every signing we make.
Keita is another example for me, reading some posts on here after some quiet games, it was like some people wanting to call him out as crap just because throughout last year I was a load of his games and reported back how impressed I was.
My opinion has still not changed, I thought he was very good yesterday up to 60 (where as some say he was average) - his ability to get on the ball, go at people and open the game for us gives us a whole new dimension, it also occupies oppositions defenders more freeing up space for our front 3.
3 or 4 players could have had an off day yesterday and we still would have won.
I don't think there's anything wrong with being critical of players who are below their best. That definitely applied to Alisson, Salah and maybe Robertson yesterday.
There was one point where Lovren took a shot from fully 40 yards that was worthy of a roll eyes.

See you there Sye, just booked it. €75 each way direct from Dublin with Lufthansa.
Tickets will not be cheap for this ED CARNEY has offered us £300 a ticket , so that means he will be wanting £400
Watched that the other day. Poor Gary desperately trying to get United players in there but couldn't could come up with an excuse other than yeah I just want a United player there. DDG is possibly the only player I'd have but even that's debatable nowadays. You could tell he's quite embarrassed to be a United supported at the moment.
On United. I thought Keane was right in something he said about them. He said they have a team full of good players but not good enough for United. That to me about sums them up. Even the so called world class or over priced players are simply over hyped, yeah they're capable of having the occasional fantastic game once in a blue moon but that's just not good enough for a club of that stature. They are unfortunately a few buys from having a decent team imo. Nevertheless they're currently crap so happy days.
Fab MOTM for sure, completely bossed it. If he can play like the last couple of games consistently then I can see being a very important player for us. Kieta has imo unfairly been judged, I thought he had a fantastic game too but as sye says he did drift off a little. Clyne for me was an unsung hero, considering the amount of minutes he's had he's slotted right back in with ease. I can remember thinking we had such a bargain when we bought him but obviously our fellow scouser has grabbed that RB position for sure.
With regards to buying players I think we'd be mad to be spending more money. We are not City and I don't be like them either. Having a balanced book and keeping players happy by giving them minutes is essential for a club like ours. No point in buying a fifth CB, that's why we have a youth team isn't it. Saying that, I can't help but feel like next season we would be best going out there and getting a proper good striker, one with a bit of height. At 30 yo I can't see Sturridge staying past this year.
