Poch would be mad to even consider United. He’s doing really well at Spurs, not under a lot of pressure and not really expected to win anything, if he does it would obviously be a huge bonus for him and the club, but as things stand he has them in the last 16 in the CL, off to their best ever start in the PL and is still in with a shout of winning the league cup. NRS makes a good point. Poch could spend the next 4-5 years at Spurs with very little to spend whilst they pay for their stadium. They might get lucky and do well in a cup competition. Maybe they could emulate our CL success? Can't see them winning the league in the next few years though.
Sure, at Utd Poch would be under immense pressure, but he'd have the backing he needs, a decent enough academy, decent young players and a set up and club where he could challenge for all honours.

He has as much chance of winning a trophy at Tottenham as he will ever have at United, probably more if I’m being honest, especially in the short term. He has a settled squad, he has one of the best strikers in the world. In short he has everything he won’t have or won’t need at United. All the financial backing in the world isn’t worth Jack Sh*t if you get it wrong, nobody knows that better than us. There is also the small matter of that other team in Manchester, they aren’t going anywhere. Again we know that all too well. United are light years behind City. It would be career suicide.

Pochettino comes across well in his interviews. He seems an intelligent and ambitious man.
Why not take that next level step up. He won’t ever manage Barca due to his allegiance with Espanyol and Real Madrid’s managerial record is ridiculous, 16 managers since 2000
It doesn’t greatly trouble me either way but I hope Poch stays as:
1 it keeps his talent at a club that won’t properly fund it
2 it keeps his talent from rapidly turning around Utd
3 it’s a further reduction in Utds stature if they chase him and he turns them down
4 it’s good for football generally if money doesn’t always win the argument

Me too.Loving the comedy circus though. The United job is a poisoned chalice. The pressure and expectation from day 1 from the fans, board and satisfying the NYSE will be intense. Similar to us, they need a manager who will be given time, build an identity and style of play, get rid of the overpaid deadwood, promote youth.

I agree with points 2 to 4. Point 1 is being addressed by the new stadium. It's being built to enable us to compete. Matchday income will be boosted up to Arsenal levels.1 it keeps his talent at a club that won’t properly fund it

Doesn't the new stadium come with a boat load of debt? Doubt the extra capacity will be realised in profit. However if you read between the lines of this statement and still think he's considering moving to United then your 'reading between the lines' super power is in terminal decline.

Despite reading between the lines I was surprised how little he batted it off, actually seemed quite open to the idea and dud very little to dissuade Utd from putting a formal bid in IMO.

At the end of the day, we are happy with Klopp, our squad and the direction of our club.
Man Utd fans have been miserable as f
k watching dross being served up every match day for years now and it’s bakc to square one. Trophies do cover a bit of that pain, but they are memories. Do you think of the europa league when you watch frustratedly on a weekend as your expensive squad fails to entertain you?

I think there's been mostly praise since FSG took over. Seem to have the club's interests at heart and are prepared to spend money to make money. woo wooo....
Who'd have thought 5 years ago that we'd be willing or able to break world record transfers?
Doing that while actually having a plan, talent spotting and developing youth. We should enjoy it while it lasts.
