I do however believe that gagging refs after a game also leads to a lot of abuse and possibly misunderstanding amongst fans. If there was an honest, open debate about their decisions and reasons for making them and highlighting their mistakes, probably lead to better decisions being by refs and all round improvement.
Their decisions are analysed ad nauseum by MOTD / Sky / everyone. The matches are reviewed by refs / referee panel - to improve decisions, are refs are judged on their performance and can be promoted / demoted
https://www.premierleague.com/referees
I really don't think we need anything else, maybe a referee's report explaining key decisions that is published the day after?
Some refs are total wallys, some are totally bais and some decisions that they really need to be questioned. It should be allowed to highlight this.
Yeah it can be difficult and mistakes can happen for sure but it's pig headedness and being stubbourn when they realise this that can also get quite frustrating.
Chocolate Frog hit the nail on the head I think.

Klopp was in the wrong, but it's not like he's the only offender... happens pretty much every game to a greater or lesser extent
not reallyManagers often moan within the rules, and you can say most things as long as you don't imply bias or lack of integrity
Klopp went over the line by suggesting the manager was biased 2nd half because they screwed up the offside goal

Klopp was out of order. He'll get punished, hopefully apologise, and move on.
The lack of respect for refs is shocking. I'd happily see a rugby level of respect and discipline. The FA doesn't have the balls to get it done.
How is the question. Million pound fines for dissent? Instant red card and abandon game when the team is down to 6 players? The lack of respect for refs is shocking. I'd happily see a rugby level of respect and discipline. The FA doesn't have the balls to get it done.
They (FIFA/UEFA/FA) don't have the bottle to upset the revenue streams.

I completely agree. Everyone expects the officials to be like robots, getting every single decision correct, down to offsides that are millimetres one way or the other and happen in a split second.
I'd love to see football become more like rugby in this aspect where referees are given the utmost respect at all times and any arguing or dissent is immediately punished.
However, I also think that there should be some sort of forum to allow dialogue between managers and players, and referees.
I agree about doing it like Rugby. Of course they get it wrong sometimes, but they should be respected. Win some lose some. I'd also like to see managers being honest after, but that will never happen.I'd love to see football become more like rugby in this aspect where referees are given the utmost respect at all times and any arguing or dissent is immediately punished.

I'm not sure I agree. Most of the football decisions that are controversial are at high speed and involve tight margins.
Managers go ballistic with a wrong offside call that needs slow motion to clarify.
Rugby has more laws but most decisions are around the slower aspects of play.
Plus at rugby only the forward try and cheat, in football everyone is at it!

yep , most rugby decisions the play is at walking pace, stationery or as fast you can throw a ball, most football decisions are at running pace or as fast as you can kick a ballTBH I don't think managers are too bad, imagine if they used the same language as players use in the post match interview
I'd like to see an immediate yellow for any player using the F or C word towards the ref

And isn't it incredible that, while decisions have to be made on high speed incidents but if the manager disagrees with the outcome, he's right (from 50 yards away) and the ref, a few yards away, is wrong? Most of the football decisions that are controversial are at high speed and involve tight margins.

Agreed on the Rugby thing - I don't follow Rugby at all but if they can respect the ref, so can Footy...

Respect for the ref in Rugby has deteriorated a lot over the last 10 years or so and the video ref has made it worse.Agreed on the Rugby thing - I don't follow Rugby at all but if they can respect the ref, so can Footy...
TBH it's difficult for managers in one respect are they are contractually obliged to speak to the press all the fking time so unless they say absolutely nothing they are bound to come out with bks sometimes but it really is out of order as every team cheats and tries to kid the ref at every possible opportunity.

I disagree as every breakdown in rugby is an absolute shambles with multiple players from both teams trying to cheat and at the same time the defensive line is trying to creep offside. You need eyes everywhere.
The breakdown at rugby is effectively static though isn't it?Having said that I was a full back mainly so I did everything possible to avoid getting involved in that st

Salah to Juve with Dybala coming our way? I imagine the chances of this are very slim at best, but what would your thoughts be?

One thing about the current owners, they are not held to ransom easily and if he does go it will be on their terms. I think its just clickbait myself. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/tra...

Assuming you don't win the league this season, would Dybala, who's a serial winner in Italy be interested in joining a club that haven't won the league for the best part of the 30 years? He may as well join Marseille. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/tra...

Ignoring the WUMs above, he's just signed a 5 year deal and we are progressing.
He is probably worth PC money right now, so I imagine it would have to be more like 100 + Dybala to be of any interest.
Probably its the usual Daily Wail clickbait
Juve have come out and denied interest but quite fancy Harry Kane MBE
"Harry Kane is a great striker, worthy of playing for Juve"
