Do fans think Bayern management cannot see this? All the build up before the game (BT sport) was about their lack of pace in defence and use of a high line and how Liverpool can exploit it.

Bayern don't HAVE to come out and go all gung-ho, they decide actually LFC are the better team and a better tactic is keep it as tight as the Anfield game and hope for a set piece goal or piece of Lewandodski brilliance to nick it, or win on penalties.

They wouldn't have been as simple an option at 2-1
It's not as black and white as 'all gung-ho'... it's unlikely they'll come out and try and blow us off the pitch, but they will need to show more attacking intent from the off as if we nick an early goal they are in a difficult position... we created some good chances last night, no reason why we won't at their place.

And of course any win would have been better than a draw!

no its utter codswallop sorry, the lack of basic arithmetic is bizarre on some of these posts

Taking your reply (my comments in parentheses)

Alternately we draw at home 0-0 and go to them

Losing 1-0 - we only need to score once to go through. (so same as the 2-1 result)

Drawing 0-0 we score one goal and we go through. Only needed to score once. (we don't need to score at all with the 2-1 result)

We draw 2-2 - we go through - only needed to score twice. (so same as the 2-1 result)

Well, if nothing else, some of the posts this morning help to explain why the unemployment rate in Liverpool is so high biggrin

I just don't think that's a given, as I said they could show very little attacking intent, when that intent plays into our hands. Perfectly legitimate (although dull) to be play it very cagey and hope our attack is as blunt as Anfield. They don't have to fall into the very clear trap marked "WARNING TRAP" that every commentator is broadcasting to all!

It's a pity we didn't lose 0-1 last night. Would have meant we would need to attack them in the next game, and so we'd score lots of goals. So would have been better to concede yesterday for the next game.

Can't believe this is a discussion but we'll deal with Munich when we go there, let's look forward to the weekend now.

As long as no one gets an illness or injury then the team picks itself really. smile

Liking Fab, he's coming good. Keita, improving also.

Naby looked really good at times last night, guilty of overplaying now and then but got away with it. I think he's better suited to CL than the prem at the moment.

Fab was class and improves with every game.

What???

You needed to attack them last night and didn't score "lots of goals".

You think losing 0-1 would have been a better result??? At 0-1 they could have done exactly the same as last night only this time at home.

There's some weird thinking goes on in here.

I've now seen it said that rather than drawing 0-0:

a 2-1 win would be worse

a 0-1 loss would be better

laugh

In Europe, at home, in some situations: 0-0 > 2-1.
Please show your workings.
Drawing 0-0 at home is worse than winning 2-1...I've heard it all now.

The problem is due to the previous history of some quite frankly crackpot posts on this thread, you can never really tell.

When I said history I wasn't just talking about the last 24 hours which admittedly have been fun but nowhere near an isolated incident on this thread so you can understand why sometimes it might be difficult for even avid bird watchers to spot those flying parrots but by all means, feel free to discuss something else . wink
