Sign of a forward short of confidence or desperate for a goal. Don’t care if he doesn’t score as long as he holds the ball up and make a decent pass
He's running his arse off and looks like he gives a st.

I'd be more worried if he was sulking and going missing.

It's not great but could be worse.

Far more stressful than it should have been. We also need to learn how to hold up the ball and waste time a bit more near the end, rather than playing so many risky passes etc.

Thank goodness! Thank you FA!
Can't see us winning the net profit trophy this year with all the payments we've been making to The FA.

It's a weird season when we've gone back to the top of the table several times this season and each time It's been on the back of a poor performance that makes you feel gloomy. Today no exception. Here's to City going on a losing streak (fat chance).

Happy to get through that with the three points, I wish Mo would pick up again because he looks like a shadow of his former self at the moment.

He just needs a goal off his arse or something to get him going

Great result today, that's all that matters.

Salah is doing all the right things, he's just trying too hard and it seems unnatural. Which leads to he looking like he's greedy.

Mane was superb today, great link up with Firminio for the opener then a decent dive for the pen wink

It's a shame the rest of the league didn't get to have their fun at our expense today eh?

Agree he’s not short of effort, and he’s trying to make things happen but it’s like he needs to chill out and stop forcing it.

Literally every ball to him is currently run into a defender cul de sac, cleared away or shepherded out for a goal kick

I disagree.

Result is fantastic but on another day, it would have been West Ham and Leicester all over again. How demoralising would that have been? Surely that is a concern? To sweep that under the carpet and not address it or acknowledge it is half our problem?

Performance today itself wasn't bad but for me one issue we have had all season is the final ball. We give the ball away at crucial moments or crosses don't find their intended target. As a result, we were nearly punished today by a sloppyish goal that on another day would cost us another 2 points. During the first half of the season, we got away with the result with exceptional defending - recently we've been conceding more often which has lead to dropped points.

Also doesn't help that it feels like we are carrying a one-legged Salah atm.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one then smile

We only conceded one goal in Feb, yes we've let in a few this month, but we've won 3 out of 4 with just the one draw with the Ev. (Which was a clean sheet anyway)

So it's not like we have 'defensive issues' is it?

We aren't gonna be perfect every game between now and the end of the season, score every chance and never let one in. That's an impossible dream.

What we can do is win every game, all that matters is results now, and we're currently getting them, so let's be happy about it smile

We had a bad patch in Jan, we've come through it. Salah is having a quiet period, he'll come through that too.

Days ago we fked a major European team at their place.

Salah will come good, we have 3 frontmen for a reason, they wont all click at the same time, so long as they are all trying we'll be fine

Chelsea today is a great example - they dominated part of the first half that I saw. Had just assumed they won. However they didn't take their chances it seems, and paid for it. Although we've had a blip actually many of our games like today we've done enough to get the points unlike most others.

Kudos to Babel for not celebrating I suppose. I hope this gives us a kick up the arse. Bloody awful.
Nothing wrong with ex players celebrating goals imo. They just need to do it respectfully and not like Neville did. I was strangely happy he scored for some reason.

Overall poor performance today but it could have been much worse I'm ecstatic we at least got a win and managed to stay in with a shout for the league.

Salah needs to keep his head up, you can see he's getting really frustrated with himself. Trent is the best right back in the Europe one day then the next struggles to cross a simple ball, suppose experience should fix that. Is it just me or is Bobby looking a tad over weight? I do like him but I definitely think we should be upgrading in that position come summer lol.

Don't care how we win, as long as its a win though. VvD's valuation must have dropped 50 million easy, he must only be worth 170 million now.

To be honest, I was surprised Babel didn't - he left so long ago. If someone is a former player once removed (for example) it doesn't bother me. If it was (say) Coutinho playing for Barca and he scored a goal against us I'd be bloody annoyed if he jumped about celebrating like a prat at our expense. A bit like Rooney scored against Everton not long after he moved to Utd and went mental. No class.

Back to the game today. We won ugly, despite not playing well. We're now top over the break. Which is a big positive. We're still in with a shout. I'd be far more miserable if we'd dropped those 2 points.
