I just hope Real's manager doesn't get sacked this year, or Klopp will be favourite judging by current performances and we'll be in same boat as you!
Just say no, Poch did!

I don't think either klopp or poch would accept the real job. The club doesn't suit either of thier management ethos.

I would hope not, but who knows. Remember management ethos might be what they have had to do. In that they previously didn't have huge budgets and so need to build over time. Take Klopp's quote about not buying league, yet he has used loads of money recently.

It's a poisoned chalice. Real managers have a life expectancy of a Mayfly.

Other than the kudos of saying, "I managed Real", what's the point?

United is a great draw for Poch. The only saving grace is that the whole organisation seems to be in disarray, while we're pretty stable. But, they can quickly turn that around if they throw money at the problem. Money that they have ready access to.

As a Spurs fan of over half a century, I only see a devastating near future, Poch goes and eviscerates our squad with offers of huge pay deals.

We end up with Big Sam.

Merry Christmas......

Yup, other than Zidane I can't really think of one Real manager in the last 10-15 years that have covered themselves in glory and walked away smelling of roses.

It looks like an amazing stadium and I am sure it will be a sound investment, it raises your ongoing revenue and as long as the debt burden gives the manager some money to invest in the short term you will be fine. I fear a lot will depend on hanging on to Poch but who knows - even if he does go you might find a good replacement
Poch is the most important man at the club. It would be a disaster if we lost him..
Not necessarily. Poch on the whole has been fantastic for Spurs. But he's just one cog of many. He can be replaced if necessary. But I agree, if he goes, there will be some short term disruption. But clubs know by now, they can not simply rely on one man. They must have contingency plans and knowing Levy, he will have this covered.

I would be more worried about losing Levy than Poch! Although there's no signs yet that he intend to leave.

Right, can we put the Poch thing to bed now, he's going absolutely nowhere.

Read this interview he's just given for clarity...

https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/1158...

I'll take a £100 bet for charity with any one person that Poch is still at Spurs this time next year.

"We are going to have one of the best facilities in the world, the training ground with the new stadium," he told Sky Sports.

"On the football side, all that we are building here will be in the same level. When you add and mix it all together it is going to be the time to win titles and deliver what the people expect.

"We still have not won a trophy, but I think we have won more than that, because after four-and-a-half-years' work together, to have a contract for another four-and-a-half years is a massive achievement in the current climate. To create that is a massive achievement for us.

Read the whole interview.

I don't get this "gross spend is misleading" nonsense. A £50m player is a £50m player. If I go Caterham racing and everyone is driving R300s and I sell my R300 for £20K and buy a 55K 620R and walk the championship, it's because I've bought the top of the range fastest car. That 620R doesn't suddenly become a 35K car because I sold my R300 to raise some money towards the 620R. I've spent 55K to buy a car worth 55K to give me a superior car to my competitors.

HE MENTIONED THE TRAINING GROUND eek

Don't mention the training ground. I mentioned it once, but I think I got away with it.

Why is it so hard to understand? Rather than a random car analogy:

Hypothetically
Next summer no one else buys a player
Spurs sell Kane and Erikssen for 250m and spend that 250m on two like for like replacements

Everyone says Spurs have spent 250m so should walk the league, except no one would because that would be flipping stupid

How much better is your 620R than the competition? 55k or 35k?

And it’s a crap analogy because you’ll argue it’s binary and your better car will win every race, whereas we know a football squad of 23 plus manager and back room is many components

In fairness adam that's not what you guys did though was it on top of the pc money you spent another 100 odd million and then still claimed it was a net window because ticket money from the stand and cup run money. That's when it started getting stupid.

Liverpool have spent a fortune and not only have they earned the right to spend it but they spent it very well. What's wrong with admitting that?

I don't think anyone had said you should walk the league but after spending a quarter of a billion quid on a team that already got to the cl final then you should certainly be challenging for it which you are. Again whats wrong with admitting that?
