Reflecting on last night, to go to Turin and beat many people's tournament favourites must reconfirm United as one of the few clubs who can win the tournament, along with the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
A true giant of Europe that all of England can be proud of.
I’m all for optimism but that’s stretching it.A true giant of Europe that all of England can be proud of.
Sunday's game is massive. If we can take 3 points away from the council house then that will show the doubters that United are really a team to be reckoned with.
I tell you what lads we've been treated to exciting games these last couple of weeks haven't we!!

That's verging on Scouser levels of optimism.A true giant of Europe that all of England can be proud of.
Well no...I didn't...the swear filters on PH wouldn't take what I said at the time, probably. It's fair to say that against Bournemouth again some of the players weren't playing at their best.
You make your own luck in football. We've had loads of games over the last few years where we've completely battered teams and come away with a point or nothing. In the evolution of the team last nights result was mega. Please also consider Juventus home record in Europe of late. I thought it was a great game.

We look much better without Lukaku playing too, much more mobile and less one dimensional!
Martial Sanchez Rashford up top on Sunday!
Completely, I said the same, Martial Sanchez Rashford up top on Sunday!
With Lukaku in its to easy for your players to just lump it to him, with them 3 or similar you have to work the channels and balls behind - makes you a better team to watch and a harder team to beat.

I thought Alexis was brilliant last night, chasing everything down and putting in tackles in the defensive third, some of his close in play was quality. Didn't really get to express himself in front of goal and I felt dissappointed for him being taken off. That said the sub didn't do too bad! Martial Sanchez Rashford up top on Sunday!
Rashford....needs to be converting those chances and he knows it.
I thought the french boys lost the ball a bit too cheaply last night and they need to cut that out, they have to be more robust in possession.
Lukaku must know that under Mourinho he cannot expect to play because of the pricetag. They've all got to perform and if they get a chance grab it with both hands, like Ander's doing.

Just watched the highlights, nearly 3-1!!
Yeah, should have been. They hit the bar and post but the Rashford chance was a gimme. He never looked up to see where the keeper was! Smash and grab against City on Sunday? IF we can keep them out and it's a big IF we could, with the pace we have in the front 3 undo them at the other end. :fingerscrossed:

It would be a hell of a week, 3 tough away games and 3 wins. 2/3 of the way there now...That West Ham game seems like a long time ago already. Smash and grab against City on Sunday? My take in it now is there is no real pressure on Utd going into Sunday. It's all on city, at home. They are playing exceptionally well and are expected to beat us, everyone is thinking we got lucky against juve and so if we lose it's not the end of the season and changes nothing. If we get a point or win it's further evidence of improvement or "lucky" again.
It could be a humdinger of a game or a boring draw but we can go now with nothing to lose.
Jose has settled down about being open and too honest in public about his players, who to be fair were playing ste at the time and needed dropping or telling in private that's all.
I'm looking forward to it whereas a few weeks ago the players and manager were all out of confidence and team work.
Bring it on.
