All I know is it isn't as easy as Alex Ferguson made It seem. it would be interesting if he was managing in 2018, at his prime. How would he do?
I think Sir Alex (In his prime) would do OK, he was used to handling multi-million pound pampered footballers and any dead wood he would get rid of pronto.

I think his only real regret was letting Stam go.

However, there seems to be a bit more competition these days, with more money in the game, but he would still win trophies.

Well, guess what? The writing has been on the wall for longer than weeks and months, but you lot just chose to ignore it.

As recently as last week someone posted on here that utd were as good as spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool.

We had 36 shots yesterday, the most in the league. The only team to have near that this season was City when they played Huddersfield.

Let that sink in, I have plenty more 'insight' if you're interested smile
It’s funny that the majority of the United fans have been hugely critical of their team for quite a while, yet you choose one person’s comment and paint it as the norm.

United are st and as a Wiganer, albeit one who doesn’t like Liverpool, I think that most on here are being fairly realistic. What I think is funny is the lack of action by the Board at United, I mean even we managed to sack nearly 10 managers since Martinez left us for Everton six years ago.

You're right in that most utd fans have been realistic recently, but its taken sooooo long for them to wake up and smell the coffee it's unreal. There were even some positive fans after Valencia away, CBA to quote them.

Yes utd are ste. But I had Jose picked a decent team they could've actually given us a game, they still probably would've lost, but they could've had a go. Instead they did a Burnley, and got found out. That has nothing to do with the board.

Fun fact.

On 5th Jan 2011 we lost 3-1 to Blackburn leaving us 19 points behind man utd. That was Roy Hodgsons last game...

I’m not remotely defending the stness of United but of those 36 shots you had about 30 were from 25 yards plus ,I wouldn’t read that much into it.

I said most were rubbish wink

But what that means is that utd had 11 men behind the ball, pathetic for a club of their stature.

Jose's approach to the game resulted in us taking plenty of pot shots at ddg, when we got in on occasions we caused problems and obviously scored 3 goals.

We aren't invincible, we can be got at, but utd were the least ambitious team to come to Anfield this season.

I don’t disagree ,United were abysmal again .
Tbh if I was still a season ticket holder I’d be trying to sue them for breaching the trades description act, because I’ve not seen any decent football for 7 or 8 years.

It has been painful to watch us this year. Hopefully the club do the right thing, get rid of Jose and we can move on and get back to competing for titles
You’ve been poor as a neutral spectacle for the best part of 10 years in pure footballing terms. The last few years of Ferguson were pretty dire, but had some stirring comebacks and last minute smash and grabs. Since then you’ve been dire though.

It’s a big rebuilding job for whoever takes over and will need a lot of investment from what seem to be unwilling owners.
Dire for 10years?? Alrighty then laugh

I did think you had some interesting points to make, but it seems your only interested in baiting United fans with your drival.

Weirdo.

“The best part of ten years” is what I wrote and then described 8 years of crap, as referenced by franki68 too.

Except we didn't and haven't done all season, hence the goals against column.

Lots of work to do with this lot by this or some other manager but the result yesterday will have come as a shock to nobody. We're not playing at the level of quality or confidence that Liverpool are playing at.

PSG in the last 16, really pleased with that. My lad will love watching Neymar and Mbappe. smile

It's not too hard to be polite is it? It's tempting to take the piss or bring up the Mane is squad filler comment but I have no interest - we are all a few bad results away from a crap season and rivals piss-taking so best be gracious in victory or defeat. See the stupid bunfight between Spurs and Pool fans on the Spurs thread. why bother?

Thought GNev's comments were spot on as usual in the post match discussion

there is still a decent Utd squad in there somewhere - interesting draw against PSG, suggest you fluff your grass up as one PSG player almost cracked his head open on the turf when we played them rolleyes
