Bailly or Lindelof would be "good enough" next to a world class CB.
I would expect that Liam Cooper from Leeds would do a better job than either of those Sunday league players.

In all the excitement, lots of people have lost all objectivity about our problems at the back.

Our defence wasn’t good yesterday. It was terrible. Spurs should have had 2 or 3 goals. We gifted them chance after chance and the CBs barely won a header or tackle all game.

Jones is Jones (awful). Lindelof is bang average. He’s got nothing in his game - slow, weak and can’t header.

Kane was poor again, in my view. I think anyone buying him would be taking a huge risk that he is on the downward slope. He was bad at the World Cup and had a bad start to the season. He doesn’t look the player he was. That could all change for the better, but I wouldn’t want to spend serious money on him until he’s clearly over his ankle issues.

And yet he's still leading top scorer in the Premier League.

True. He’s still a very very good player.

But he would only be sold for huge money, and it’s not clear to me that he is still the player he was before his big injury. It happens to a lot of strikers.

No one is going to disagree we are poor at the back. But pretty much all their chances came in the last half hour, whether this was due to a tactical change or tiredness (spurs ran quite a bit more ) ,I’m not sure.
Before anyone goes in that spurs had a midweek game ,I find long haul journeys take far more out of you.
Also I think Matic is too immobile for the system we play .
It was a fantastic game and united are playing on a different level to how they were under Jose so just chill out and enjoy it.we were (11 ?) points behind Arsenal when ogs took over

Lindelof is class mate, he's getting better with every game and has a steeliness about him that Vidic had. He will come good and alongside another top defender we'd have a very solid centre two.

Au contraire. We should have been out of sight before they started shooting at us. I thought the team as a whole defended resolutely and DDG was just the magic sprinkled on top. Sure Kane, Alli, Son, Eriksen fashioned chances to score goals but wouldn't you expect that with them playing at home and playing to win the Prem? Come on let's not be too hard on the defence, they put up a really good block through big parts of the game. They kept a clean sheet against a really good attacking side.

Wake up in the morning and feel fine like the rest of us. biggrin

How do you square that with Spurs having a free pass to shoot and head at goal from well within the box? Did he win any headers or make any tackles?

He’s obviously improved massively, but I don’t see him keeping out any good strikers.

That's a bit unfair ORD , he really could have got 3 or even 4 goals yesterday .

Kane is the Premier leagues joint top scorer this season along with Aubameyang , & Jacques Cousteau on 14 goals.

If he was for sale Utd would be top of the queue wanting his signature.

Serious money you say...Bournemouth are holding out for £75M for Callum Wilson.

I do! I’m over the moon!

Just trying to remain objective. Our terrible defence is still terrible. We need to ship out most or all of our CBs and start again.

When you're facing an attacking line up of Kane, Alli, Eriksen and Son they are going to create chances no matter what you do sometimes. I felt for the most part the Lindelof kept Kane at bay and we kept a clean sheet which against Spurs is not easy to do.

Ord just chill and enjoy. We all know this isn't the finished article. We are playing now like we enjoy it and winning again like we used to.
It's gonna be nice to see what happens now and if OGS is given a chance or not. Well also strengthen in summer so it's all good.

Brighton up next at OT. Hopefully we won't need a defence so much in that game and the dream team (OGS/Phelan/Carrick/McKenna/The players) can make it 7 out of 7.

I agree that we are still giving away way too many chances. That’s a problem with the defence, and Harry. Linda can develop into a passing CB, but needs a real leader alongside him. The rest of our CBs aren’t good enough. Spurs looked like they could cut us open at any time. And we look terrible at set pieces as well.

Can’t agree with this. I think he’s an excellent forward.
