Posting here as there’s probably no point posting in the City thread due to the lack of footfall but what’s everybodies opinion on City’s youth/academy players in their first team?
Non existent. But that doesn't matter because Pep.Makes my skin crawl the love in over Guardiola. I've heard he's a off the pitch too, unlike Mourinho. Inherits world class squads, spends st loads, ignores academy youth. fk him and his dodgy employers.
I really hope those bds get what's coming to them.
Harrumph.

I think the majority of fans are with you there, can we add Chelsea to the list?
If it wasn’t City & Chelsea it would have been two other periferal teams hoovering up the trophies .Aren’t Liverpool currently the subject of a huge bid from some Middle eastern country or family ?
The fans won’t want it but they will enjoy any success that comes with it.

FFS Saudi Arabia are interested in buying United if reports are to be believed. That will be me done. fk those wkers.

This is what I don't get. With FFP how can new owners just expect to pump their own money in, buy the best players and virtually guarantee success like City? Why don't they just get out there sell their brand to companies, make money and invest that in their playing staff/academies?

Of course I'd still support the club but it would be very difficult with owners like that and the way they treat their people.FFS Saudi Arabia are interested in buying United if reports are to be believed. That will be me done. fk those wkers.

Nonsense, Leicester? Wigan? ArsenalLiverpool haven't won the league in a billion years.
The financial doping of chelsea and city has probably hurt us more than any other team.

I'd be going to Trafford FC, giving them my money.

Let me explainYou are a multi-billionaire leader of a Middle Eastern country with a thin veneer of democracy.
You want to buy a football team as a bauble / vanity project / to get some credence in Western Europe
You buy a team in the North East with zero recent success, who lucked into some cheap digs that has a small but loyal local following and zero international fan base
You approach Nike, Starbucks, Wonga, Amnesty International etc for huge £££ sponsorship deals who offer you tiny sums due to your current lowly PR/marketing stature
That won't help you buy all the best players and the league
Aha you think, I happen to own some big companies, let's call them "Etihad"
You take a ridiculous sum of cash from your left pocket and put it in your right pocket and spent it
The numpties out UEFA don't notice / turn away and ignore

Your post EFA though.
UEFA have said that FFP has been a resounding success, so much so that European football is now into profit for the first time in a long time. I cannot see them relaxing the rules around FFP anytime soon, so again why would new owners want to spend Billions of pounds on buying United, knowing that UEFA will be all over them like a rash (we live in hope) watching their every move. I guess matchday fans won't be going to "Old Trafford" anymore.

Surely your issue is not how much you've spent but how you have spent it?Your post EFA though.

They are buying an asset that they think will appreciate, the asset already is very profitable and can buy lots of players and aim for cup success - if they didn't take any dividend out like Glazers do that would provide plenty of extra money that is fine by FFP as self-generated.Also even if it doesn't make them huge profits it diversifies their wealth from commodities and buys them some respectability in the West

I wonder how many sponsors might re-consider their position over Saudi owners and look elsewhere to spend their money however.

Not at all. Not when I'm talking about our possible future?
City won't be in the same position when PG leaves - I live in hope that he has a meltdown when they get knobbed out of the Champion's League again. He doesn't have a track record for hanging around too long.
It'll be interesting to see how things develop with this FFP story over the coming weeks.

I'm hoping they get booted out of the competition altogether and somebody gets a bye. Not because I might be a bitter red, still smarting after Sunday (even though I am) but these fkers need to know rules are rules.

If they get punished further after the years of st that the two Spanish clubs have been getting away with then that will be the final confirmation of how bent the system is.
