I've said it before and i'll say it again. Until you get rid of Jose you can buy whoever you want...you aren't going to see anything you'd want to pay to watch.

That squad with a different manager could do wonders.

Go and watch a Leeds game from last season to this and tell me that the manager can't transform a team.
Yep.

We finished 2nd last year so there's life in the old dog yet. City were exceptional last year and have maintained that form and balance. In the spirit of competing, JM has changed tact somewhat this season but it's largely backfired. Yet, he's still won more trophies in his time at United than Klopp and Poch combined.

The pressure on United this season is/was intense. Expectation levels have gone through the roof after last year. We didn't get the transfer targets JM wanted. We started off poorly and haven't yet got in to any rhythm. The players are lacking in confidence, feeling the huge weight of expectation (especially the younger ones) and their football is suffering as a result. Too many of them aren't performing well enough, that's always going to be a problem. It's not really a surprise that we're struggling. Ideally I would have liked Rui Faria to stay at least another season to work with the group.

The press want Mourinho to fail and Guardiola to succeed. But all clubs have problems with players, the spotlight is and always will be on United moreso than the rest. C'est la vie.
Second was so far behind the winners that it may as well not have counted. You were never in the hunt for the title, nor was anyone else for that matter. The trophies in first season were nice to have, but they weren’t the ones anyone really wants. I’d love them, but then we’re a mid table Championship team. The only trophies that matter to the top teams are Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup, in that order.

Expectations are high at all top clubs, United get pressure from being arguably the biggest, but they have to cope with it. All the rest of that paragraph is down to your manager to sort out, he seems to create more problems though. Your young players aren’t progressing, when Scholes, Giggs, Beckham came through they were top, top players by their third season and on the cusp of the Treble, not asking for more time to develop.

The Press will turn on Guardiola and City soon enough, but only after they’ve won a bit more. It’ll be the financial fiddling that does for them. That’s not your problem though, as that will leave the door open for Liverpool based on current form.

I doubt it. The press/media were handed it on a plate four years ago and not one British journalist followed it up. It doesn't take a genius to work out that if the owner's family and powerful friends who own business interests in the Emirates pile unrealistic money into the club for naming and sponsorship deals that something stinks. Fast forward four years and more financial irregularities have surfaced via overseas media and the story has barely merited a mention in any of the major UK sports outlets.

Yes but how many of those have directly affected the game state?

Have they though? Because you were second? You were four points ahead of the Scousers and umpteen behind City. Did anyone really expect you to 'push on' and mount a challenge? You fans might have done, but no-one else surely.

Everyone is bang average except Pogba. We all know that!

Martial is starting to look pretty damn good, too, though.

And my original post was not one for biting I was thinking of players available they could buy if they had 100m in Jan who would improve them.

And I answered & jokingly said that you thought Firmino was good & there has been a little bit of badinage about the said player recently ,it was all said in jest . You know maybe lighten up the mood in here a tad .Then the would be PH football forum police got involved .

We all know that Manchester United could buy anyone they want with the financial muscle they have & every footballer on the planet is available at a price.

Aaron Ramsey is struggling to get a game at the Arsenal & the amount of money Utd would have to pay in wages I just think it wouldn’t be worth their while & he’s not that good a player IMHO.

Sanchez looked a far better player at Arsenal than Ramsey did & he’s not done that great at United so far

I think Ramsey has lots of talent , I would be happy if we went for him, I would see him as another OX that needs a change
