Very tired and lethargic but ground out a win. On a par with spuds on points now. Finishing above them regardless would be hilarious.
More proof though we need some fresh faces and ideas at times. Up the reds

Scruffy game that was!

Matic is gone and was ste again today. Pogba has had to start playing deep again and Jones, Smalling and Young just aren’t good enough!

We were poop, they weren't, but we got the 3 points so ha. Best not try that against Barca mind. Shaw was very good, as was most of the defence in fairness considering the void in front of them. We need a proper engine in midfield this summer, if Fred isn't trusted - which judging by the subs he isn't.

2 counter attacking goals... LVG must be psychic laugh

The defence was fine today I thought ,no help from midfield at all.

It wasn’t great at all. 8 attempts to Watford’s 20 says it all. That said we park it and move forward - 3 points.

Credit to Watford, very decent team on their day.

Thought Ole nailed it when he credited Jones and Smalling. You have to give credit when it’s due. They were excellent both of them.

Will enjoy the Pool Spurs game later if the mother of my kids will allow it.

Actually it is allowed outside the Liverpool thread, we don't get posters banned when we disagree with them on here. smile

This...each to their own on the thread of love!

I just personally don’t think they’re good enough and although they’re decent at stopping play etc they’re both awful on the ball and offer nothing from that perspective. Against a better strike force yesterday we would have conceded 3 imo.

3 points though so onwards we go and just hope that the others around us all lose!

They are not good enough on the ball - but they defended well yesterday. Terrible performance from the midfield.

Im not saying that we shouldn’t look to get upgrades, I’m just saying that yesterday they were a big positive largely as they had little/no protection at times. We could definitely do with a Rio Ferdinand type centre half that’s Uber comfortable on the ball. We just kicked the ball out of defence yesterday to get it up the pitch and it kept coming back. I’d like us to be able to soak up pressure win the ball but the first pass is to a man in space to counter. I was amazed we had more possession than Watford. We should be aiming for 65-70% possession in every game at home at least.

Speaking of Liverpool. I cant believe I'm saying this but I actually want them to win the league this year. Anything to stop City matching or beating our treble. I'd have them (City) odds-on the win the league. 2-1 against for the champions league and evens for the FA cup. I think that means 4-1 against. Still much too worrying though Liverpool's last minute winner has just helped.

I think it's just 15 games City need to win to do the Quadruple (and league depends on our performances of course).

Anyone know where mike74 and all the spuds went ?
10 games lost for spurs, shocking really when they were talking of possible trophy wins or pushing hard. 5th looming for them now.

Yesterday reaffirms we need a strong CB who can play the ball out, a Matic replacement who attacks, and one if not two new attacking options. Sanchez wages would go a long way to paying for DDG and Rash.

Spurs have shown this season that draws aren’t worth having. No bad thing. They’ve fallen apart recently, just as most of us predicted. We were told we were ‘arrogant’, if I remember rightly.

I think Liverpool will win the league. They’ve nothing else to play for, and Man City have the harder run in. A shame because the Scousers will be intolerable. Also a shame because Man City are vastly better than them.

Doesn't the Champions League count as something to play for?
