So according to Twitter we don’t need Maguire as Tunzabe is amazing, AWB is the signing of the century, Greenwood is going to get 40 this season and we’re going to win everything this season with kids.

Gotta love preseason

One understands that pre-season is not always a reliable barometer for the season forthcoming.

But from what I ascertain from preseason so far, is that we're not in as big a mess on the pitch as originally feared.

Feet firmly planted. Would still like to see McGuire and another world class midfielder. I think pogba is staying put now and him +1 in midfield sorts a lot of issues

I’ll be really disappointed if we don’t get Fernandes and Maguire . I know Maguire is not worth 80 million or whatever but I think he will be a great addition . Fernandes is a no brainer surely?
Exactly what we need.

Bid rejected for Lukaku?
Holding out for the price you value him at & blocking his dream move to a bigger club, eh? biggrin

Very true.

Maguire played the first half of our game today for anyone that's interested.

I must have missed the post where someone on here said Leicester were being unreasonable. Either that or the pair of you are trolling for an argument.

There's been a couple in here. Plenty on Redcafe and Twitter though. It was lighthearted, chill.

Not interested at all and makes no difference.

But I’ve no idea what your on about. United value Maguire at X amount and Leicester also value him at X amount. They’re not the same so therefore at a stalemate. The same way as the lukaku situation.

He’s a nice to have but not a necessity.

Watched the highlights this morning of the Milan match and obv means very little in terms of results. But not conceded a goal yet pre season iirc has to be a positive thing.

And AWB looked incredible! Don't think I've seen someone make so many well timed perfect aggressive tackles in a united shirt for a long long time. But with that no doubt he may get a few cards along the way..

DDG looks to have re-signed under a new long term contract if correct that's good news.

WB has been excellent. But we looked uncomfortable on corners and crosses against Milan. Even Jones has played well!

Ok sorry, thought it was a dig. It’s going on a long time though and really should sorted out by submitting our top offer with a deadline so everyone can get on with their lives. I don’t like the way these transfers play out - look at de Ligt, is he really only worth £70m??? That’s come about by the players head being wrecked and his club being forced to cash in or risk him whinging for a year.
There’s been plenty discussion about whether WE all think he’s worth it but United are entitled to offer what they value him at just as Leicester are entitled to request what they do.

Very true.

Juve have done very well out of the De Ligt deal, he'll be there for a decade if they can keep him happy.

I just wonder how Juve are planning on staying on the right side of FFP. Perhaps you don’t have to declare the bribes for match-fixing though...

Not forced but granted.

There was already a lot of interest in him last season. So when De Ligt renewed his contract last season he had an agreement with Overmars that Ajax would cooperate without asking the utmost for him.

Raiola tried to exploid it by ‎saying he considered De Ligt's market value at €50m, which turned out to be Juventus's opening bid.

Harry Maguire and United are in a completely different situation, Leicester, rival PL team, are holding on to Maquire for dear live and are trying to squeeze every last penny out of the "desperate" reds of which they know they will come up with the cash anyway.

Personally think in todays market and compared with the 126m for Felix, the 75m for De Ligt is a steal.

He’s good but he’s fallible. I think his price is about right at this current time. He’s unproven at the very top end.
