He’s good but he’s fallible. I think his price is about right at this current time. He’s unproven at the very top end.
I’ve only seen him play a few times, but he looked absolutely terrible. He’s very much unproven.

I read that Leicester have won the battle of weak wills and accepted a bid of 80M for Maguire.

Both Manchester clubs have previously submitted bids, both were rejected.

Nothing has changed, no more bids have been made. We've given the clubs a deadline, if the deadline passes we won't be selling Maguire.

You’ll sell him, just next year and for much less money. Widely silly.

This would be the sensible strategy from Woodward. So far he’s been sensible about Pog and Lukaku. It would be good to get s really good CB, but compared to last season Axel should add to our central defence. And WB helps defensively as well.

Morning LL, while you seem to have decent sources, do you know what that deadline is please? Also, I read this morning in Metro that United have had a breakthrough - is that true?

This is what clubs like Man Utd use as leverage; if you don't take our money NOW you'll lose out. It works when you hold all the cards, but you don't; Leicester are a direct competitor to Man Utd now.

They dont need the money.

And Leicester City don't need any lessons on transfer strategy from Manchester United.

Silly.

All of these Leicester fans coming out of the woodwork. Anyone would think they're scared of losing their best defender wink

It's like being scared of being abducted by aliens; it wouldn't be pleasant but the chances are minimal at the moment.

Not if he helps us get top 6 this season. Yes 70 million for Maguire is excellent money, but 15% of the profit goes to Hull, and we've gotta sign a replacement for around 40/45m? If that's Dunk then it's pretty pointless selling Harry, as we're probably downgrading and making about 10m profit ourselves.

I don't have any sources myself mate. I just pass on the info from well known LCFC sources (who have a proven track record). This is normally from them posting it somewhere which I see then post it on here. From what I've seen the 'breakthrough' is just a rehash of last weeks news, where he was definitely having a medical, to a second bid not even being submitted! I have no idea what the deadline is, I'd imagine it's fairly soon though, I don't think we'd like to be shopping around for a CB in the last week of the window, we made that mistake when we sold Drinkwater and messed up the SIlva transfer by 14 seconds!

18 days to go still though, we may know more if he's on the coach to Cambridge tomorrow.

It's weird that it seems to be only about yourselves though and nothing on Manchester City, even though the bids were the same (I'm not sure of the structure or anything of the bids). If you have a bid accepted and then Man City come in and equal it, God knows what's gonna happen.

City are at it again, indicating they'll be back in if they have to sell Otamendi. A tactic to get certain teams to spend 20M over what they are comfortable with. This is why there is 'new news' about Utd getting close to the asking.

All the non utd fans on here is hilarious.

We have cover if McGuire doesn't sign. It would be nice if he does come.

We don't need Maguire.

We have the personnel for an effective defensive line. They just need to be coached to function as a unit.

Preseason mutterings seem to indicate Ole is taking care of this.

Pogba looked happy and very effective at the weekend , he's obviously been brought back into the fold by OGS recent positive comments about him. Some great touches and ball distribution. I'm hoping he stays and gets his head down.

Who do we reckon as vice captain next season then? (I can't see them taking captaincy for Young considering his experience and influence in dressing room).

Pogba has been mentioned, but Mata has been covering a lot of the pre-season press stuff.

Pogba, WB and Mata did the Singapore event.

Maguire would be a nice to have but we don't NEED him per se.

Tuanzebe is going to step up this year!
