A friend of mine is heading down for one of their games later this month, it's a Copa Libertadores game (two legs I think?); I'm massively jealous, would love to do that one day.
Further to this it's a good job that he didn't choose tonight's game, it has been called off due to the bad weather FN2TypeR said:

Old Trafford was equally disappointing, to many tourists and due to the size it was really quiet. I got in the trafford pub on match day as an away fan because the bouncers couldn't tell the difference in accents. I never get in home pubs as an away fan anywhere else lol.
Whilst football in general is a far better experience these days, going away to Man U in the 70s and 80s was just magical. 6000 of you, crammed into the scoreboard paddock so tight you could hardly move, home fans above you chucking coins.....those were the days.Goes against the grain as I don’t really want Intl football these days but without a doubt I’d say the latter stages of the major international tournaments when a home team is involved. The atmosphere beats anything you’ll ever get in a club game IMHO. I was lucky enough at Euro 96 to be at the 4-1 win over Holland and the West Germany semi....atmosphere at those two games was incredible. I was also lucky enough to be at the final in ‘98 when France beat Brazil. Home team winning the World Cup ? Doesn’t get any bigger even as a neutral.

I think the players from the old East Germany would be quite put out by being told they were playing for West Germany. It was just Germany by '96.DocJock said:
B Dortmund's Westfalenstadion.
This is a must do for any fan based in Europe. I went in 2013, a 4-2 win against Bayern,in the South Terrrace, the yellow wall. Just amazing. My ears were ringing until the next day, I seriously thought I'd caused myself permanent damage. You must go when they play either Bayern or their derby game against Schalke to experience the full madness.
In terms of atmosphere and noise, Dortmund v Bayern and Boca v River are miles ahead of any other experiences I've had, with the Milan derby a distant 3rd (still magical though).
But I still have plenty more to do, finances and not dying permitting. (not dying could be an issue with Partizan v Red Star)
