We were missing Son and Kane, rest of the line-up was pretty much what I'd expect except for Sissoko not starting.

Why Poch persists with Trips and Rose I have no idea. Trips is by far our worst player this year and Rose hasn't exactly covered himself in glory either tbh.

Jenas had Rose as one of the better Spurs players last night.

Speaking of Jenas. He's a bit rubbish as a commentator I think. Last night Spurs got a free kick in the 2nd half. Jenas said it was foul after seeing the replay proving it wasn't. He didn't correct himself and say I got it wrong. He's not the only pundit who does this btw.

Interestingly, I wonder if Spurs had scored from the resulting Erikson free kick whether VAR would have taken it back to review the initial foul?

Do we know if Son/Kane will be fit for the return match?

If not, we're pretty much screwed methinks.

I hope Spurs go through to the final, I really do - as a Liverpool fan it would make PH explode if there was a Liverpool v Spurs CL final.

If Liverpool get knocked out by Barca at least one British team is in the final.

Kane no as he's out for the rest of the season.

Son is not injured, he was serving a yellow card ban and should be available for the return leg although going on our recent luck, he'll probably get hit by a passing meteorite on the way to training.

Just watched the BT highlights on YT.

Unless it's an extremely biased edit, apart from their goal and a small period early on, we had the run of the play and had we had Kane or Son on the pitch, it have been a good few goals to us.

Seems the injury putting Sissoko on was a blessing in disguise.

Talking of VAR how quickly did they announce in the TV coverage that their goal had been referred? They'd celebrated, jogged back and set up to kick off again before something came up on the screens in the stadium saying it was going to VAR. That is far, far too long to wait.

Was thinking the same - watched the highlights this morning its about a 6 min video their goal comes right at the start and from then on you'd think we'd battered them apart from them hitting the post.

That's just the DM regurgitating AS

AS reporting a verbal agreement has been made regarding the sale of Eriksen to Real.

AS are like the Spanish version of the Daily Sport.
It seems he will go as he has been pushing for it for a while, if you get £130M or anything like it it is great business for a player who shows a glimmer of genius every 5th game but can't tackle and lacks work-rate so seems massively overrated IMHO

Too true, I really can't see how we'll get that sort of money for him though.

It wouldn't, no.

VAR reviews are done on the current phase. Once a free kick is awarded and taken then the game moves into a new phase which starts at the point the free kick is taken ,so if a goal is scored then you can only go back to the kick itself.

Was onside I'm afraid. When the ball was kicked Trips was keeping him on.

To be fair you can't judge him on his recent form\comments on here as he was probably gone a month or more ago so not really at his best. Previous to this that glimmer of genius would be pretty much apparent in every game. He has the highest assists in the PL this year, that doesn't happen by accident.

Replays clearly show it was onside.
