I'm still at a loss as to how a flying 2 footed challenge in the box doesn't warrant even a booking, let alone a red card
Or how VAR wasn't used when Alli thrown to the ground out of view of the ref.
Ignoring the reliably incompetent Atkinson, honours even was a fair result. Attitude and application of the players was a big positive. Let's hope tomorrow comes and goes without any further departures

To be fair, he didn't book Kane or Ali for diving either, so it's all square.Or how VAR wasn't used when Alli thrown to the ground out of view of the ref.

There is actually a third option, between simulation and a foul hence why these weren’t given. Alli is expecting contact, goes over, no appeal and carried on. Why would the ref stop play and caution when neither the player nor the oppo are asking for it? Alli isn’t seeking to gain an advantage and has not claimed he was fouled. Kane is a difficult one. He is looking for the contact and is no longer going to get these. Firstly the ref wont give these penalties now as they’ll rely on VAR to help them, and second VAR won’t give these because the player has moved towards the opponent looking for the contact and then exploiting it. Same as last week against Newcastle, and in both cases staying on his feet and trying to get the shot away was a better option. It looks st in slow mo but it is not a dive per se, there is enough contact to take the player down, but as the player himself caused that contact when he didn’t need to, it is rightly not given as a foul.
This whole “diving” debate always seems to focus on a binary choice, when often it is the middle choice of there being contact, but not really a foul, that is the reality.
And Xhaka should have been caution for the penalty, but often with he award of the pen the ref considers that punishment enough. Not really right or fair, but the PL is not refereed the same way as any other football match.

Both dives mate, Kane did one earlier in the game that he got away with too.Kane is a difficult one. He is looking for the contact and is no longer going to get these. I don't have a problem with it myself, but call it what it is.
Xhaka probably could've had three yellows. I think the ref had a good game overall, it's a difficult fixture and he handled it well.

There was in no way enough contact to bring Kane down, to suddenly make him lose his balance in such a dramatic style - and to suggest otherwise is mad. the first time I saw this was on MotD when they slowed it down and it looks worse as you say. Shifting his body and weight over to initiate the contact and then going down, poor from Kane, but then he is a pro footballer looking to take advantage ... should have been booked though, for sure, like the Tom Daley lookalike Utd bought.Kane usually does it halfway into the oppo's half, when he's run 20yards or so and just wants a free-kick so just kinda flops over, having taken the ball own some blind alley. Usually it gets given ...

He did it today during the second half, awkward silence then "clever play from Kane" from the commentator. Mothersruin said:

Last day for Eriksen to be snaffled?
Is there even any rumours of potential clubs interested??Would Poch not have preferred to sell him for £40-50M (i.e. cheap but reflecting contract length) and reinvested that money?
Dunno in today's inflated market, surely he's worth £70m-£80m all day long? Despite him having a so so end to last season, his stats are still mightily impressive, in fact doesn't he hold the record for premier league assists or something?
When people are paying £80 odd million for largely unproven defenders, surely a well proven attacking mid has to be worth more?

Surely the problem is in three months he is worth nothing. When people are paying £80 odd million for largely unproven defenders, surely a well proven attacking mid has to be worth more?
If he plays like he can and helps secure Champions League again then I'd have thought the money doesn't really matter
