Juve will take anyone, particularly on a free and he's definitely better than Ramsey and Can.

How can you know that? Maybe he always wanted to wind down his contract and then go to the highest bidder.

Eriksen is now effectively worthless to Spurs as a transfer.

Unless a club comes in in Janauary that is absolutely desperate I guess you could squeeze them for £20m but then that money is just going to come straight out of Eriksen's pocket so why would he agree terms?

He can wait 5 months and at worst will be put on gardening leave.
I'm not sure Christian is worthless to Spurs as a transfer. In January if maybe Juventus want him they'll pay maybe £20m just to get the jump on Barcelona or Madrid getting him for free next summer.

I would have thought winding down his contract would also ensure he gets the best possible contract offer out of Levy? I imagine Levy would rather stick and extra £50k on his salary each week rather than lose one of his best players for nothing? Even on a 5 year contract that's "only" another £12.5m.

And earn £150k a week, why do that when he could sign for Juve @ circa £400k a week and get the new challenge he wants?

I dont get the fuss really, hes conduced himself pretty well i think, he did one interview said his piece it hasnt materialised so all parties are cracking on. no sulks, no strikes just getting on with things and he will get his pick next summer.

Meanwhile we picked up a player for a fraction of his price because of the same sort of contract issue and have spent 6 years paying less tha market value for him.

when you look at it logically its hard to find a loser really.

I think the fuss is being made because he had a big dip in form and commitment towards the end of last season. Add in the fact that Poch then had a strop and refused to play him and it's hard not to blame these contract negotiations, we've effectively lost the use of one of our best players for months mostly due to them.

If we are going to compile a list of players whos form dipped toward the end of the season it would read longer than a list of Hornets aliases..

Just like you guys we aren't playing the high energy press anymore, I don't think this is just to do with Kane but more to do with a change in system and the fact we lost our powerhouse midfield in the guise of Dembele who got too old and Wanyama who is broken.

Saying that I don't think Kane is fully firing on all cylinders yet either, he's certainly not in the form of a couple of years ago where we scored 30 goals. Injuries are partly to blame but he's also not getting the service he did that year as we lost the aforementioned key players from midfield.

You therefore see far too many games where he is forced to come deeper to get the ball which means he's not in the place where he should be when the ball arrives in the oppo's penalty area. Dele was also poor last year who is usually another great provider for Kane/

Basically we need to get players who can get the ball to him quicker and he needs to stay up where he is more of a threat. I'm hoping Dele find his form again this year plus Ndombele and Lo Celso coming in should solve the supply issues meaning he can do what he does best.

We keep playing out from the back, slowly, which allows the defence to kep back - see the Newcastle game. Before we went full out at pace, overwhelmed the defence, or we had a long ball up to kane who held it up for the oncoming midfield. We aren't doing either of those at the moment. A bit of variety would help

Yep we seem to have lost the dynamism and fast pace that was our trademark for ages for some reason. 80% possession is all well and good but if most of that is passing it sideways and backwards, it's worth diddly squat.

All depends what system you play. Just because WB's are all the rage, doesn't mean you HAVE to do it too. In fact many teams don't. If you play them as normal LB's and RB's, then yes they lose their significance greatly.

The problem we seem to have is that we used to play with good WB's, we lost them but haven't adjusted to cope which means we often lack width and service from the wings into our strikers.
