Llorente was the cover, the others are wingers playing out of position.
By that logic Kane is a number 10 playing out of position.Kane's had a few significant injuries and Son and Moura provided cover. His first big outage he came back from and won the golden boot despite missing about 10 games of the season, and in his second big period out IIRC we scored more goals with him out of the side and there was a clamour from certain sections for him to be dropped.
Modern football isn't about having 1:1 cover for every first choice player/position (probably Man City excepted) it's about having a squad of players that can be used in interchangable ways. What top level striker do Liverpool have warming the bench waiting for Salah to get injured? What top level striker do Arsenal have warming the bench waiting for Aubamayang to get injured? etc. It's just not how modern clubs operate.

A cheap striker should have been bought over the summer
...which is what we did, and loaned him back to his club for this season. We are not short of attacking options, it's the defensive side where we have the most urgent need to spend the money.

One of Poch's worst decisions to play him in the CL final. I think Kane has a bit too much sway for my liking.
Completely agree. It's not the first time it's happened either. For some reason when he comes back from injury he takes 3-4 games to get back into his stride but Poch insists on playing him.Gassing Station | Football | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
