3 games played; win away, qualify for CL knockout, 5th in table, reduce gap to 4th from 12 to 6 points, rumble Dele's brother, Sissoko scores....

I'll give Jose the benefit of doubt until January....

So reports saying Lo Celso want's off, don't blame him tbh. Apart from Ndom the other two signings have been treated pretty abysmally tbh.

I also don't get this modern habit of managers spending loads of money on players, only to leave them rotting on the bench, why did you buy them? I know in this case they weren't bought by Mourinho but Poch wasn't exactly using them either.

Baring injuries, it really shouldn't take a professional footballer a year to adapt and be used in a new team.

I'm guessing Maureen has told them they don't factor in his plans - I can't imagine he's shy about stating these things. Saves time down the road I suppose - I just hope we don't need them later.

It took months before Ox and Fabinho were integrated with our squad. Sometimes it just takes a bit of time for them to learn the systems and become integrated with the squad, especially if they've been hampered with injuries too.

Incidentally, how have they been treated poorly? By the club or the fans or something?

out of the 4 months hes been here, how many weeks has he had off due to injury?

als, him and poch being argentinian suggests to me that he only came for that reason as im sure his advisors would have informed him what happens with Poch/new players.

Then again, Poch apparently didnt like Moura but Maureen does so he'll probably get more game time

Ox was injured, Fab no idea why it took so long tbh.

NDom and Lo Celso have shown me enough in the time they've played to show they are more than good enough and better than the other options we have, don't agree with waiting a year to play a new player, the same thing happened to Moura and it's rubbish tbh.

They've been treated poorly because they are good players who are being left to rot on the bench, don't know any other league where that would be a regular occurrence tbh. Marque signings are introduced ASAP everywhere else except in the PL.

Robertson is the best example of having patience with a new recruit.

I don't believe Ox was injured initially. He had very few minutes in the first couple of months and only really got going once we had a really busy period. He was then instrumental in several games, including those against City before that big injury kept him out for over a year.

Fab had so few chances initially because Klopp was waiting for him to learn the system. Same with Robertson. In fact Moreno was still first choice ahead of Robertson for his first season before an injury to Moreno lead to us bringing Robertson in and we then never looked back.

Salah, Mane, VVD however were brought in and were integrated straight away and were flying.

Some players hit the ground running straight away, others need a little more time and patience.

Firstly, it's an article in Marca.......

Secondly, we didn't sign any Marque players, we signed squad players.

N'Dombele will be competing with Winks, Dier & Sissoko for a midfield place. I expect him to start the majority of games as he's quality. And whilst he has been fit, he mostly has.

Lo'Celso is competing with Son, Moura, Alli and Eriksen (and Pamela I guess too) for a forward/attacking midfield role. Even if he is Eriksen's replacement (and Eriksen leaves) that still doesn't guarantee him a starting place. Plus he joined the squad lacking match fitness due to the protracted transfer, then got injured on international duty, then relapsed in training.

Sessegnon has also been injured. But Jose tried to sign him whilst at United, so I'm sure he'll get match time.

It's hardly surprising that Jose will pick players he's familiar with from the opposing dugout in his first few games, rather than those he may only have seen on the training ground since he's arrived.

Players get injured, suspended, lose form; everyone is going to get plenty of opportunity to make claim for a starting position. It maybe that Jose doesn't fancy some of the new signings, or some of the established squad but that doesn't mean anyone has been treated badly. I doubt anyone has a starting clause in their contracts; so anyone expecting to play every game has either joined a club far beneath their talent level or have a Zlatan complex. Or is called "Harry Kane" but we didn't sign him, did we....

Middlesbrough in the Cup.

Hope we go for it rather than playing a load of reserves.

You are probably right but as a fan it's frustrating seeing good players get benched while we give the likes of Eriksen, Sissoko and Rose game time, none of whom would be my first choice picks ahead of Ndom, Lo Celso and Sessegson tbh.

Troy Parrot looked good last night as the Under 18s knocked Liverpool out of the FA Youth Cup. I really hope he gets some first team football under Jose.

N'Dom and Sess will be 1st team mainstays for the next 5 years. Haven't seen enough of Celso to form an opinion.
