Judging by what I'm reading, I really don't think Levy is going to be giving Jose pots of gold, especially not this month. In summer, who knows? All I know is past form has shown it's not really Levy's way, like most clubs who aren't City or Utd, we've always sold to invest so no reason why he'd suddenly change that after 19 years.
As for Kane not wanting to leave London, could be a point but there are other London clubs. Hate to say it but Chelsea for instance have had more success than us in recent times and with their transfer ban lifted, actually have the finances to buy their way to more trophies, long before we can.

I think you are right here, and if Madrid or Barca came in for him its not exactly a bad place to live...As for Kane not wanting to leave London, could be a point but there are other London clubs. If like you say he doesn't really give you much of a budget and you keep Kane your task for top 4 will be ridiculously hard. Were in an age now where a good fullback who offers you nothing going forward costs £50m and a average CB is 80m. Unless your scouting network is brilliant its going to be a tough slog getting in the players you need on a small budget.

Is this a Utd / Maguire dig
Suppose in a way you could look at it that way but its a true story? or am I seeing this wrong? WB is a great defender, get him near the half way line he tackles himself
Maguire has always been nothing more than a 30m defender sold at 80m as he was English and Leicester new UTD were desperate. He is to slow, and immobile to be a top top CB.

I said this already but no one listened After the last game, Mourinho came out in his post match and said basically "I've got to work with the players I've got". I'm very sure he knew what constraints he was going to be under when he signed up.I think Kane would break transfer records if he leaves, probably around £150m. If spurs could get that sort of money, he ought to be sold with the money being reinvested.
It worked for Liverpool when they sold Counthino but not so much when Spurs sold Bale, although Eriksen was a good buy.
Personally, I've been saying for a year or two that Kane should be sold now.

In the past, defender used to be the easiest role to fill and prices reflected that. Tackle\Clatter into the forward and then hoof the ball up the field. Even in Sunday Leagues, it was the st job that no one wanted to do.
Weird that modern football now places a lot more emphasis on these positions to the point where you are paying almost as much for a good defender as a decent forward. Even a team like City with their almost limitless spending power are struggling to find a decent defensive line-up to contend with the pace at which attacks develop these days.
Have to say I'm not a fan of the modern need for defenders to be attackers though. To me a defenders job first and foremost should be to stop attacks. Surprisingly, few defenders these days are actually brilliant at that bit but they balance that out by being able to do things that no old school defender would dream of like actually being able to pass the ball.

We've gone without Kane plenty of times over previous seasons and it's not been a problem. I don't see why now is any different.
It's the defending side of the team that is most urgent to sort out, not the attack.
When Kane has been out previously, it was Llorente acting as a backup. Parrot isn't up to playing in the Prem yet, look at the cup game a Colchester. It's the defending side of the team that is most urgent to sort out, not the attack.
We should have picked up a cheap, journey man striker in the summer (e.g. Salomón Rondón, who went for £16m. Sure he's not great but he would do as cover).
