Er...Spurs aren't stable and have nothing to look forward to with our new stadium and all?

Seriously?
Bit over-enthusiastic from Pommy there

I'd say Spurs (I suspect Poch will stay and will be given stadium revenue to buy Eriksen and Toby replacements) and City have plenty of stability and bright prospects, Chelsea are all over the place and will struggle without Hazard but will doubtless throw some money at it and change manager again, arsenal are rebuilding, Utd have 3 or 4 years or rebuilding work

You've still got a very slim chance but I can't really see City dropping points in the games left. At least you can say you gave them a very good run for their money. I think you pretty much lost the title back in Feb\March when you were 7 points ahead but had your run of draws tbh. Odd games to draw too but I guess no one can be 100% on it all season, even City had a wobble, it's just theirs was earlier then yours and they recovered quicker.

Any other season you'd have won it but City and their bottomless millions have moved the goal posts unfortunately so you are probably going to have to spend again this summer. As someone said above, I think the one thing you are missing is a leader\midfield general ala Gerrard.

They have a tougher 3 games than us, but at the end of the day they are a better team and don't have CL to worry about.

Hopefully we'll win our three and they'll drop a point or two. But I'm not holding my breath. smile

We still have a real chance of winning the CL (and the PL) Will be interesting to see if Klopp goes 100% tomorrow or rests a couple.

Not sure of over enthusiasm - were the only club without continuous rumours /reality of disruption to our players, manager, stadium, finances or ownership.

Don't Chelsea have the transfer ban? So they're more likely to weaken, particularly if Hazard goes.

You're right to point at West ham away and Leicester at home, we shouldn't have drawn those on paper but they were the right result on the night, we weren't good enough.

We should've lost to City at home.

Arsenal away however, we should've won that one. The rest of the season has been a fair refection on where we are.

We don't have a creative midfielder that everyone bangs on about, a player like Erickson, Hazard, kdb, Alli, even ozil.

You could argue that with almost 90 points we don't need one, but those games like west ham and Leicester, were where we needed a little extra something, and just couldn't find it.

Poch isn't a certainty and there's no money for new players with some on the periphery of being somewhere else.

The staff and players at Spurs are far from stable.
What?

How is Poch not a certainty?

We made £113m profit, how do you know there's no money for players?

Who of the staff is leaving exactly? Or rather, who is leaving that Poch doesn't want to leave?

This is a joke right?

We're every bit as stable as you and with far superior facilities.

I agree, we have very good midfielders, quite a few of them in fact but no truly great midfielders and definitely no world class midfielders.

If 'all' we did was bring in a £100m midfielder (cant think of any available names in that bracket) and sold a couple of the none core players this summer I'd be happy.

Spurs are probably in the best position I can remember them ever being in.

With a good chance to win the CL too.

Can't deny that it's all worked out well for you this season, I didn't think it would if I'm honest, but it has.

We could get Dele Alli for about 60/70m? biggrin

No doubt superior facilities.

However...Your net debt is £637m with a big bill due in 2022 and payments of £50m a year just on the debt, and although you registered a +£100m profit over half your profit was due to player sales like Kyle Walker. I do understand your gameday revenues are going to be significant but hard to quantify at this stage if the increase correlates to a net neutral impact of the debt payments.

Eriksen and Alderweireld are both questions on their future commitment to Spurs.

The Poch rumours refuse to go away but they're just rumours so who knows for sure.

Eriksen or Hazard will more than likely be available this summer too although you'd probably be fighting it out with Real\Barca\Juve over those two so you are more than likely looking at £100m+.

Or we could do you a straight swap for VvD wink

Eriksen is a bit old, overpriced and wouldn't fit into our 'boy band' photoshoots like Dele would.

Hazard will be heading for sunnier climates.

Swap Virgil? You'd have to open the negotiations with your stadium, cash + players laugh

It's a farce. I might as well be in it.
Yep.

Eden Hazard v Sadio Mane this season:

•Goals: 16 - 18
•Assists: 13 - 1
•Pass success: 84% - 79%
•Key passes: 89 - 40
•MOTM: 13 - 5
•Dribbles: 182 - 97
•Goal contributions: 29 - 19

Daylight robbery.

Definitely looks like Erikson will be overpriced this summer.

Can't see Hazard going anywhere else other than RM, but even at his age we should be sounding that one out.

That is what happens when you play for a club who play Thursday night football, pretty sure he will be in it in LA LIGA next year.

Aren't they both near the end of their contracts. Eriksen might stay but Spurs would need to make a big change to their salary policy.
