OK, so he has a year left on his contract, but He is normally the captain at Lyon, who finished 3rd in their league last season - so European football. Betis feels like a significant step down i.e. 10th in La Liga. A year ago he was hot property and now there's no "big" club in for him.

Maybe it is the leg as it looks like a significant fall from grace.

It's a strange move I agree, surely better to stay put, I've read it was to with his brother and he would only stay /go somewhere where his younger brother was taken on to... His brother was part of his move so make of that what you want
