Best goal per game ratio in premier league history :
Rooney (0.42)
Ronaldo (0.42)
Fowler (0.43)
Cantona (0.44)
Andy Cole (0.45)
Owen (0.46)
V. persie (0.51)
Ian Wright (0.53)
V. nistelrooy (0.54)
Shearer (0.59)
Suarez (0.67)
Kane (0.69)
Agüero (0.69)
Henry (0.69)
Salah (0.74)
To be ahead of Henry and Aguero (and Suarez to an extent given the 1 goal per game season he had) is very impressive.Rooney (0.42)
Ronaldo (0.42)
Fowler (0.43)
Cantona (0.44)
Andy Cole (0.45)
Owen (0.46)

Kane (0.69)
Agüero (0.69)
Henry (0.69)
Salah (0.74)
I wonder what the stats would be like if it was based on goals from open play only.
What separates Salah from those on that list is the number of assists he has as well as goals. The days of the elite clubs playing a one dimensional striker are gone given wingers now top the goal charts and have so many assists.
Now is also the time for a succession plan. Someone to work alongside Klopp for the next 3 years and carry on the good work that has been laid. A big part of Klopp's success is his personality - that will be hard to replace. Fergie had an aura and so does Klopp.
I wouldn't be surprised if Klopp does take a sabbatical. Football is a pressure cooker environment and it is constant. Klopp handles it well by using humour almost as a pressure release valve. He recognises there is more to life than football. That helps. Still, sometimes mind and body does benefit from doing and thinking about something entirely different - allowing you to come back energised and refreshed for a new challenge.
If he manages to win the league in the next 3 years, you'd have to say 'job done!'.

I think that succession plan will be Pep Lijnders. He's enjoyed quite a rise under Klopp and been his number two during the last 12 months whilst we've started winning things again.I wouldn't be surprised if Klopp does take a sabbatical. If he's not in line for the top job then I can see him being the number two for someone like Gerrard - depending on how he gets on with Rangers over the next couple of years.

If when Klopp leaves we are looking at Gerrard then Klopp will have failed. If he's not in line for the top job then I can see him being the number two for someone like Gerrard - depending on how he gets on with Rangers over the next couple of years.

I fail to see what Gerrard could achieve in the next few years that would demonstrate he is the right guy to take us on from where we currently sit. He would have to go to a more competitive league to a team who is challenging in Europe and demonstrate he can do it at that level as a manager. Also there is no way Pep would sit under Gerrard. We may well be lucky if Pep sits it out without looking for a top job elsewhere during the time Klopp remains. Best chance he stays is if he is on a promise.

So why would Klopp have failed if the board decide to go for Gerrard?
