I tried Sergio Spanish lessons. He’d probably have more success teaching me football, that is how inept I was.

Sky and BT have soundtrack (fan noise) makes a massive difference... Germans (as always) started it couple weeks back, before then it was a hard watch.
I presume the noise is just for the viewers not actually in the ground for the players?

Not sure how Sky/BT were working it but here's a video of Craven Cottage testing out their crowd noise at the stadium:

I think it is yes stuart, not sure it could be done fairly by the clubs, they would surely just ramp it right up hehe

volume up to 11, two buttons "cheer" and "hiss" pressed depending on possession

optional "wker" button when ref decides anything against home side

Not quite there yet in terms of match fitness.
Not convinced yet as a spectacle tbh.

And now we’ve narrowly missed the most consecutive penalty misses record.

Does David Luiz qualify for 2 assists?

Very happy with a win, not great on the radio though.

Hmmm Sky need to up their game too I thought.
Especially as the suspension has lifted on payment and we are now paying full whack again.

Commentary was poor they didn't feel enthused by the game, if you were momentarily distracted sorting the kids you could miss a goalies the usual excitement was absent also the volume of the commentary was too low compared to the background fan noise .
Come on Sky Im sure you are paying them enough to be there get them to deliver!
The fan noise was ok but needs more variety, where was Blue moon?
it was certainly better than the Bundesliga games which seemed like training matches at a local park in comparison.

I would like to buy a return to PL shirt though do we know if they are going to sell them, they are not on the site yet but would be a great reminder of a point in time for our son, perhaps they could donate some of the profits to the charities featured?

Re: the fan noise
I thought I heard Blue moon but agree it lacked the variety you get when an attack is on, a chance missed or a player bought down.
This is bound to have an effect on the commentary and ultimately the excitement.

Better than nothing but a bit of a low fat, no sugar variety

was it my imagination, or did the crowd noise "come on city" chants? wondered whether they are using venue specific recordings

agree it could do with volume rises when attacks happen

It's team specific crowd noise as you could here both Citeh and Arse chants but more Citeh as they were at home.

Not very realistic then if you could hear the City fans.

I thought it was a fantastic performance, City were toying with Arsenal at times, like Leeds did with Southampton in the early seventies.

The crowd noise was really good, without it, it would have been like watching a training match with no atmosphere.

Hopefully Eric's OK long term.

7-0 I think. Leeds had a great team back then. Men against boys.

One of the best, if not the best, team I ever saw. As a kid I remember sitting awestruck in front of the TV watching that game. How they lost the European Cup final to Bayern that year I’ll never know.
