3 year deal, then hopefully back to City in a coaching/number 2 role.

If his managerial role goes well I’d be more than happy if he ends up as our manager in the future.

Have I missed something?
BCM isn't allowed to post on most football threads now so he has to get his digs in on this thread.
I'm not having dig at all but reading the Liverpool thread is just pure sour grapes this morning.

Looking at other threads ,not just Liverpool, there’s a lot sour grapes and resentment around.
We really are a big club now if they all hate us wink

Yes, some silly comments there
Pep has won everything bar CL and even there he got unlucky against a plucky Spurs team, I’m bloody glad we are not playing City in the final.

Back to back titles with record points is pretty special.

Money doesn't always buy success. See United for reference.
Guardiola is the gel that makes City click. He has instilled a philosophy of passing that even as an opposition supporter, can't be denied in it's simplistic beauty. He without doubt has to be held in high regard.

City’s tactics are unreal.
The technical ability of KDB, D Silva, B Silva, is unreal.
The shooting ability of Aguero is unreal.
How they normally play with Fernandinho ahead of the defence and the rest attackers is unreal.

I admire the way they play. Obviously I don’t want them because I know they will win against any team who doesn’t go at them easily.

Good post, it’s easy to not remember the realistic posts among the sea of nonsense smile

Did anyone see Pep telling Sterling a better way of doing something at the end?
That’s what makes Pep so good , he’s so driven and that’s why so many City players have improved under his watch.

If there’s been a breach of the rules then there has to be punishment after a fair “trial”. Until then City are innocent and have certainly presented a strong defence.
Its natural for people to speculate ahead of any judgement though, especially on forums. City will get a trial of sorts and will present their defence. UEFA is pretty corrupt so I am not sure how they will judge things. My suspicion is they will bury it and keep the status quo which keeps the top brass in well paid jobs unless the evidence is so damning its shames them into action. See racist chants for further details.

Confess I haven't followed the case too closely, the hugely inflated sponsorship deals from companies owned by Mansour are pretty obvious, and the emails are fairly damning. City's defence seems to be the emails were obtained by nefarious means are therefore inadmissible. What are the other arguments please?

If you've done wrong I hope you get punished, though a CL ban will just make you stronger in the league I fear

In addition to the other stuff posted I don't think it's incorrect to say that about Pep. It's impossible to know what he'd be like in say Cardiff, but his systems have relied on having the best players. But he has shown he has at least 2 of the 3 things you need for a top manager - being able to buy the right players, and having the tactics that work. It's going to be natural (and I think we discussed it before Pep joined City too) that people question if he could do well with Cardiff for example. To me it's just people having different strengths - same as F1 for example. Vettel dominates with the right car, but don't give him that and he looks far more ordinary. Hamilton is more flexible, but usually has a few races where he's lost focus etc during a season. And so on.

For every positive post congratulating City there has been a at least one negative or sneery one.

Thankfully this thread is still one of the few available to have an opinion.

The thing is Pep has not bought the very very top players , he has bought good players & made them top players , i would comfortably say that other than Mahrez & the sadly injury prone Mendy that every player that Pep has bought is now worth more or less double the price they paid for them. It's pretty clear that the owners of City are in this for the long term & it's down to the rest of us to try & find a way to stop them , Spurs found a way over two legs & Liverpool almost stopped them in the league & they needed penalties to win the league cup, They are indeed a great team but they are not unstoppable.

Very sorry to see Vinny go. Thought we might have got another season out of him.

Glad he appears to be going on his own terms though.

a brilliant defender and comes across as a thoroughly decent bloke too

his goal against Leicester felt like a kick in the nads of roughly similar strength and accuracy
