Where else would he go? PSG?
We know Pep likes a club with a big fat wallet and there aren't many of those around.
he likes a sabbatical, then manage Spain? We know Pep likes a club with a big fat wallet and there aren't many of those around.
I think he wants a WC win on his CV before retirement.
I think if City had got to CL final and won it this season, he'd be off on his sabbatical at end of his contract next season.
This will gnaw at him though, and if you've indeed signed Haaland for a couple of years, he'll likely extend for another year until 2024 to try and get that CL win. Don't think he'll stay longer than that.

Question is will Pep stay or is he done? I have a few city fans as friends who are all questioning whether he stays or not. They say he was brought in to deliver the CL but has failed up to now and only has a year left on his contract.
Very much this isn't it? I don't think Mansour will be particularly enamoured with winning the Prem and some domestic cups after Pep has signed a Billion quids worth of players. I mean, every manager at the club since the money was invested has won the league and domestic trophies, it's a given. Surely it's the CL they covet? Pep has had 5 attempts and failed, after spending more money than any other manager in history. 11 years since he last won it and has managed Barca, Bayern and City in that time. Is it possible that he's not quite as good as everyone suggests?Adam. said:

You're claiming bias when the referee could have easily taken strong decisions against City. Laporte could have easily seen red early in the first half. Zinchenko should have been booked for diving and his next yellow would have been red. The referee got some calls wrong like they do in every game. He let some things go early that he probably should have pulled up. City got decisions their way too and he missed out on yellows and potential reds for both teams. It balanced out.
yep - sjc watching a different game to usWhinging about the ref belittles two cracking games, great drama, and some great football from both sides.
and a wonderful result

Anyway it's done now, two great teams will hopefully make a great final.
no right minded city fan wants pep gone. he got it bang on against madrid, but a couple of players let their concentration go momentarily and real are the kind of team to punish that. also, the profligacy by those in on goal time and time again isn't his fault.
hate to say it as we seem to have so many spuds cretins in here today, but missing out on kane really hurt city this year. as i've said before, we must be bottom of any european league in chances created vs goals scored. if the 2 lads supposedly coming in hit the ground running, it'll hopefully solve that.

Spurs fan in "unfamiliar with winning" shock.I'll say " The Quadruple is on" and leave it at that.

That's the manager's fault for not replacing Aguerro and instead spending £100m on Grealish, rather than a whole host of other strikers, surely? I mean he signs all the players, chooses the team and formation, gets all the plaudits when things are going well but it's not his fault when the most expensively assembled squad in history fails in the CL, again.... He made decisions for and against both teams. There was no bias on show. You can say he got a few yellow card decisions wrong, but the big decisions were all fine.
The commentary team have influenced your opinion on the Sterling tackle.
I appreciate screenshots don't tell the full story, but I don't have a video.
No the commentary team didn’t influence my thoughts,I couldn’t hear a single word they were saying where I was watching …but thanks for the patronising. If you don’t think that missing two blatant yellows on the same player in the first half and hence reducing them to ten men isn’t tantamount to a big decision then you don’t know football. I don’t know who you support, but I’d assume it’s one of their rivals hence your own prejudices have come into play,or maybe you’ve just played at a low level. I’ll level up the patronising with that. The commentary team have influenced your opinion on the Sterling tackle.

A truly great game, partially marred by an official not up to the job.

As a neutral I was disappointed to see Man City go out last night. All credit to Real Madrid for hanging-in but IMO City were definitely the better side over the two legs and basically threw it away; in truth the tie should have been put to bed in Manchester - they could have been three or four up before Madrid scored - but they missed a couple of easy chances and have now paid the price.
It will now be interesting to see how they react in the league. Losing in the way they did could well have an effect psychologically but with Liverpool so close behind they can't afford any slip-ups; it would really hurt if they finished the season with nothing while Liverpool did the quadruple but I think that scenario is now looking a distinct possibility....
