That's it then.

It's a battle for second place.

He clearly trod on his foot and even looked down (instictively) to see what he'd done - definite foul and penalty. Commentators focusing on the arms and whether there was a push, like fools.
Would that have even been a foul anywhere else on the pitch? No. Lucky.

Have no idea what Mendy was playing at. The ball cannoned off Kyle Walker's head so if he had shepherded the ball out, it would have been a corner. He must have either missed the touch (difficult) or alternatively thought it came off a Wolves head (even less likely).

Mendy is a poor player end of.
i actually thought he'd been improving over the last few weeks, and had a decent game until he switched his brain off.
I don’t think the likes of Otamendi and Mendy would be in the starting line up if we had a fully fit team tbh.
Bringing Garcia on is a sure sign of the problems. He’s a great young player but hardly “a wise old head” the situation required.
When was the last tie Bravo was on a winning side?

Mendy has had a few serious injuries. A couple of years ago he was basically considered the best LB in the league.

Good to learn that a foot on the line is encroachment these days. Bullst decision.
Chow, I think Gallagher is wrong there.

In all my years of watching football, it has been the fact that if any defending player encroaches, it is a retak. Gallagher is making the point that it is because that player cleared the rebound and "impacted" on the penalty that it had to be retaken. I'd stake good money on it being one of the two players at the bottom of the screen that encroached enough for the penalty to be retaken.
Plenty of feet on the line (both sides) for the penalty Leicester have just missed and no retake

We dug in today and ground out a result against a decent Sheffield side.

Fortunately Bravo wasn't called on too much, except to handle back passes, but his kicking is terrible, three times it went straight to a Sheff Utd player.

Yes it would - you can't stand on someone's foot and simply say "sorry it was an accident". Accidential or not, it was a foul. A mis-timed tackle is an accident but try telling the ref that after you've taken someone out. smile

My heart was in my mouth every time he kicked the ball out smile
Clean sheet though even with 2 midfielders and an 18 yr old at the back!
Sergio coming back on the pitch to celebrate the goal after being subbed made me laugh!

On the line is fine. The Leicester retake was for the player who had encroached the D then cleared the ball. The only reason the D exists on the pitch is to ensure players stay 10 yards from the ball for a penalty. The fact his foot was on the line of the penalty area is irrelevant as he’d already encroached by a yard and a half before he got to that line.

Usually encroachment is only called if the opposing team gains an advantage, I.e defending team penalised if penalty missed or attacking team penalised if penalty scored.

My comment about the line was specifically to the comment made above and by a PLref that on the line is considered encroachment.

It's like a running-gag in a poor sitcom - here comes Bravo!
