It pisses me off when the old "oh. he's a football fan and they all do that," diatribe comes out, because 99% of us (plucking the figure as a guess, I know) aren't racist aholes. Hope the guy gets what's coming to him, I properly hate racism.
Looks like it is biting him hard. Great news. No place for it. Half his own team is black. I’m over the moon I do not understand what makes a man do that. Utter . Alpinestars said:

Fred and McT put a real shift in. And the front play was superb in the first 30-35 mins.
Imagine how much better we’d be with someone like De Bry. We need a 10 please.
That’s Pogba mate. Look at his stats! Imagine how much better we’d be with someone like De Bry. We need a 10 please.
Fred is really starting to look like a player. As for McSauce the lad’s a monster.

Can't believe it really - but it's not a 'club' problem, it's a problem within the sport of football (mainly) because it attracts these knuckle draggers.
It goes on at many clubs up and down the country every weekend - today it just happened to be City on the TV. If they had been 2-0 it maybe wouldn't have happened, who knows.
Bloke wants naming and shaming, prosecuting and banning for life etc.
He has been named and shamed on Twitter - His Facebook profile doing the rounds showing employment etc. Manager at a large national civil engineering firm. Will likely be sacked come Monday as everyone is tweeting his employer. It goes on at many clubs up and down the country every weekend - today it just happened to be City on the TV. Facebook and Twitter comes in handy sometimes.

Posting stuff like that regularly in recent weeks might be why you get a reaction from some.
This is the Utd thread. If other teams' fans come in here, they should expect us to talk about other teams in less then glowing terms. What are we supposed to do on this thread, club together to buy the scousers a congratulations card and a book on how to find gainful employment?

Not at all, but don’t expect it to be ignored either/ stuff said back. What are we supposed to do on this thread, club together to buy the scousers a congratulations card and a book on how to find gainful employment?

Personally, if something like yesterday takes place.. The clubs captain should be carded, even red carded if needed.. It would stop overnight.
In ice hockey, if the coach mouths off at the officials.. The bench gets a penalty and has to sit a player out, good rule.
That’s a daft idea. Strategically placed away fans in the home end and a bit of overt racism and your team is in a winning position. Fine if it’s the team or anyone directly associated with the club. In ice hockey, if the coach mouths off at the officials.. The bench gets a penalty and has to sit a player out, good rule.

Fining the club doesn't work, they spend £100 million on a singular player, a £100k fine is pointless.
Im glad the public have outed him on Twitter, to his employer and GM Police. Let's hope a criminal charge, banned from any ground for life and no job will teach him a lesson.

The question really is why have these knuckle draggers become enabled to be overtly racist. Society had moved on from this, but things have changed recently. Knuckle draggers have always been here and always will, but they are no longer marginalised, they are almost welcomed / accepted by an increasing number within society. Is it that, or is it that they are being called out more now and named/shamed?
The technology and ability to name and shame has been around for a lot longer than this recent upturn. Overt, casual racism is far more prevalent nowadays IMO. The rhetoric in this election is clear evidence of that.Alpinestars said:

This. I'm not at all surprised this is all resurfacing now.
I think ,NRS is right.
I don’t think society is becoming more accepting these idiots have nowhere to hide now. So are getting caught more readily. This particular individual has been identified and is going to really suffer, rightly so as a result.
Mindless fool. What’s inside someone that allows them do that. In the front row 10 yards from the players with the cameras right on them.

They are more emboldened. And hopefully we’ll avoid this thread turning all political, but Gazza has some very valid points. Well if feeling more emboldened is the case hopefully what is happening to yesterday’s Herbert will make others think. https://metro.co.uk/2019/12/08/gary-neville-accuse...
Difficult to avoid the politics given what’s happening on Thursday!
