Greenwood is something else! His shooting is leagues ahead of everyone else in the side.

Nothing creative in midfield and Martial was useless again. We just can’t break down teams.

I don’t know why you’re surprised. The way Everton were set up and with the new manager focus it was obvious what we were going to face. Despite that we set up completely wrong, accepted being pressed and it was poor from the off. Lingard is a disgrace, he shouldn’t be anywhere near the team.

So we can win against teams that try to play around us but if they sit back and wait we’ve got diddly squat available to break them down because we don’t possess a midfield?

That about the sum of it?

Don’t forget that the plan is for the defence to bring the ball to the halfway line then the rest of the team stands still and waits for them to roll a slow pass that gets intercepted, or hit a hopeful ball to where there’s at least 3 times more opposition players than we have there.

If there was no VAR it's still a goal though...
I’m fine with that. I don’t mind refereeing mistakes. They’re inevitable. But why have all the delay and ruin the flow of the game but then not even get it right?! It’s a stupid system.
It is a stupid system but it's stupid for everyone. I can't see it being used next season - not in its present guise in any case.
I'm unsure whether it was a foul, still.

This too. No movement from any of the forward players and we end up just passing it sideways or backwards. Garbage.

Genuine question - is our attack coaching the worst in the league? I can’t think of another side that has so few ideas when the ball gets to the final third.

A number 10. I’ll keep saying it till we get one.

A voice of reason!!!! We can’t break teams down because we need a ten a proper world class ten.

It’s the same coaching team that set us up superbly against Spurs and City. Mata should have been on with Greenwood.

Still rebuilding so we are going to be inconsistent.

All fair points. But there’s a worrying paralysis against sides that just sit back. You won’t get too 4 unless you beat the worst sides.

Agreed let’s see what happens when pogba is back or replaced. And Greenwood starts ahead of martial

Greenwood starts ahead of Lingard. Martial is worth his place if others move. He’s still lazy and hugely inconsistent, but miles better than Lingard.

Pogba isn’t coming back, I think that’s pretty obvious given how long he’s been out with a minor knock. Whether we can replace him in Jan is open to debate, but I’d doubt it.

Greenwood is not a 10. He now deserves a start ahead of Martial. As you’ve said he’s lazy and inconsistent. Greenwood is not. He’ll get one for sure though midweek and if he keeps scoring he can’t be left out.

We’ll disagree on Pogba for now. He’d be the difference in these games. How do you know it’ was a minor knock? To think we are not playing him because he already gone? Sorry not sure about that, not in Jan.

He might not be a no.10, but Lingard is a waste of space. Give Greenwood a shot, rotate positions during the game, try something, anything to allow us to break down a “lesser” team. I put that in inverted commas, because I don’t believe we’re much at the moment, a couple of good results against top teams does not alter our league position much and we could easily be mid-table again in 5 matches. We have no consistency, nor do we seem to know how to take teams apart and create chances anymore. For most of the game we’d had 2 attempts, one after 15 seconds and a free kick. Liverpool absolutely destroyed this side, as have many other teams this year. Change of manager aside, they’re still the same team and we should be beating them at home, not scrabbling a draw in the last 15 minutes.

Has Pogba really got an injury that’s kept him out for nearly 3 months? That’s some serious injury for someone who doesn’t have any outward physical signs of one. I don’t know anything, just guessing, but to me it seems like he’s gone.

Martial is literally like playing with one less player.
He is not a centre forward ,and Lingard is a headless chicken .
On the positive I thought Fred was our best player ,he is improving .
