Really? Never the greatest winger and in latter-days not the greatest fullback but always gave 100% and had the f-you attitude when needed. Over the past couple of years I've always been pleased to see his name in the LB position instead of Shaw's.

This. Effort is the first thing you ask for and Young never left anything on the pitch. Not the last word in technical players but that's the last thing you need now - look at Pogba (yeah yeah, I know!)

He outstayed his welcome for way too many years, he is an awful full back and like a lot of the players in the squad currently is not good enough to play for United. Glad Ole is clearing some deadwood out but we need to start signing some decent players.

Oh I agree he's not always been st, but he's never really been all that though has he? We've taken enough deadwood from United and Arsenal over the years, we've got enough of our own to clear out

I liked him a lot, he was also thew only one who could head our absolutely st crosses!

Like most I wish Young well, he did OK here, won stuff and in some cases dragged us out of the dumps (Winner on his debut, Stoke away in some cup replay, got us back in the game vs City). Plus those two against Arsenal in the 8-2 were beautiful
