Apparently Grealish has got a £45m buy out clause so in the grand scheme of things I think he’s good value.

Can’t wait to see the back of Pogba and Raiola. For large parts of this season Pogba has been on strike. He elected to have that operation earlier in the season so he’d be fit for the Euros, he and his agent are absolute cretins. Still wouldn’t be overly surprised to see him sign a new 5 year deal at 400k a week though and the club saying what a great piece of business it was. He’s not up to the week in and week out out rigours of playing in England.

. I don’t think you could keep Maddison, Grealish, Fernandes & Pogba all happy though and I can’t see us going for Maddison & Grealish.
I am not United but if I was I think I would be delighted to buy Maddison and Grealish and tell Pogba and his agent to FRO, at a net cost of 30-40m
Agreed, Pogba can FRO and take his circus with him. We've got a team that finally looks galvanised and happy so that can't be broken.

We deffo don't need Grealish and Maddison but I'd happily take one of the other (preferably Grealish) but I'm still not sure where they would slot in. Squad depth is key though.
United will buy one of Grealish or Maddison not both ,don’t worry about where they would fit ,it’s the sort of worry we should have rather than worrying about pereira or Lingard starting .
Completely agree. Maddison and Grealish or Pereira and Lingard is a difficult decision to make scratchchin

£45m for Grealish is a bargain. Almost as much as we robbed Sporting for Bruno biggrin

I think the clause only comes in if Villa get relegated?

Great win last night but how awful is Chong, he needs to be sacked off.

Once it became apparent Grealish was moving, surely a talent like that would mean that his release clause was only the starting point for an auction. I’d expect it to be around 70 - 80m eventually.
Maddison is so important to Leicester that I reckon it’d take 100+ to get him (I can’t see the value in him beyond 75 personally)
Can’t imagine we’ll pull any more than 90 for PP either. His agent’s ruining his career by alienating his club for 2 years and showing him as troublesome but everyone knows we want him gone and will use it against us.

Not seen him enough to say if he will be any good or not. I suspect he needed to go out on loan this season for regular game time but I doubt he will want to sign again with the club. Gomes is the same, and needed game time elsewhere to see if he is good enough.

Good luck to them if they go and try and get game time elsewhere

Agree, its too early to tell for those two. We don't want to get rid and then find out in a year or two that they have matured into top players.

I know Chong did okay in the youth team but every time I have seen him play he looks hopeless, can never beat his man. Maybe it is too early but I don't feel like he is going to blossom into a player we need.

Do Maddison or Grealish play on the right?

I still feel like there’s a big hole there in the squad

Grealish tends to drift around more and is all over the pitch for Villa in a defensive capacity too. We should go all out for Sancho if we want a dedicated right sided player.

I like Grealish a lot. He’s not absolutely world class, but he does a lot of things very well and tries damn hard. Excellent player for the PL.

A win on Sunday puts us only 6 points behind Leicester. That door is creeping open and we’re hitting form at the right time hopefully!

The auction would be salary and signing fee, no point to a price auction if the club have to accept any offer over £45m (or whatever).

Yep. Not going to be an easy one by any stretch. Just hope this momentum keeps going smile

Sancho would be lovely and I think if we can end the season strongly, get Champions League, win something then we start to look attractive to the upper echelons of the transfer market again.

Yeah, Leicester could be the ones to drop out of the top 4. I still think City will find a way to squirm out of their ban and it will have to be top 4 to get into the Champions League.

I think Grealish is an upgrade on Lingard and with the swagger he's often got, the way he moves with the ball, he could become a proper United player. He's got that extra bit about him.

You've got to think they're saying to potential signings look, we're not going to win the league next year but you see the players we've been signing, we want to win the title in three years time and become dominant again. We want you to be a part of the reawakening of this famous club. We want to play exciting football, score goals, give you a platform to win accolades on an individual level and a team level. They've got to do the whole sell, playing in front of 80,000 people, when you go away you've got a terrific travelling support, often drowning out the home fans.

What you hope they're not saying is we're going to pay you twenty thousand pounds more than Liverpool or City each week, we'll get your Instagram following up and see about turning you into an emoji, you'll have to play a bit of football here or there but nothing too strenuous.

Saw an interview with Rooney this week. He was talking about why he signed for United. We were rebuilding and hadn’t won the league for 2 seasons. He wanted to be part of that rebuild. He knew he’d be straight into the first team and playing with and against some of the very best. Fergie completely changed his team 4 times
and we are doing the same under Ole. The vast majority of footballers will see that.

Those folk that don’t are fans with blinkers. We are on the way back.
