Moyes spent next to nothing compared to Ole and Jose won trophies and please don’t say OGS name in the same sentence as Pep and Klopp!
You think I was comparing output? Pep and Klopp couldn't win with the squad OGS walked into and certainly both would have spent as much (Pep more) if they had in sorting it.

Jose to be fair did ok and it was only his toxic relationship to some players and how he dealt with them that spoiled his tenure. Traces of that at spurs now too, he's still in love with himself.

4 "lucky " wins it is then. I'll take that given how crap we are playing. Long season ahead, I think we'll sort something out and improve, you disagree, Everton game is the one I'm worried about as we do need to get something there.
Forget the CL for a bit and focus on the PL. we have won 2 drawn 1 lost 3. 1 point from 12 at home. The 2 wins were close to both being draws. We will lose against Everton.
Pretty shocking innit

Gary of the Nev sums it up reasonably well.
He's right on the money for me tonight:

To be fair this was the first XI Klopp inherited, and his net spend in next 5 years was about one Pogba

At least we can't blame OGS for signing pogba and wasting the cash :-)
I think Jose once referred to pogba as "a virus".
He's not the only one who needs to shoulder the blame however but trying to build around him in midfield I think is our major issue at the minute. Easily solved temporarily!

Respect due to Herr Klopp, he's been a godsend to you guys. Not sure he'll dominate long term like Fergie did, but you've a great shout at more trophies for a few more years yet based on what he's done. My understanding is he's not a long term guy in himself anyway, it's filling the gap after great managers that's the problem as ever.

No way will he do that, now one will.

The days of long term managers like Fergie and Wenger are long gone, best we can hope for is him staying till his contract ends.

Got stupid money for coutinho though no? Cant name the last player we sold for a decent chunk of money.

I think.cv19 has changed the transfer market and value of players since Coutinho, no one is paying out £100m+ for anyone right now. Liverpool used their lottery win on him wisely. We've no one for sale that anyone would pay more than £10m for now given the big wages etc and state of football economy.
Make do n mend is the new way in footy over the next few seasons!

I disagree re Klopp. I think Utd would be easily in the top 3 every season with Klopp at the helm. We have some very good players.

I meant klopp wouldn't have done anything initially with squad ole inherited, just as he didn't with Liverpool. He may well be able to get more out of our current team however, we'll never know.

Playing Arsenal was always going to be a close game, did some of you not realise that? Your acting as if we have just been thrashed by a newly promoted team! (as much as we hoped we would carry on from Wednesday nights form). We played badly against a really good Arsenal and lost 1-0.... The uproar is a little unjust imo

It was a game of fine margins. A bad day at the office.

Be nice to get Axel and Telles back in squad and stick with them for a few games. Start VDB and see how we get on.
Pogba clearly plays better from the bench.

Ole still has a better win ratio than Sir Alex after 100 games smile

No because he also destroyed luke Shaws confidence publicly.

That's true and I wouldn't downplay the significance of that, but the reason that happened was that we have a policy of buying young cheap potential that either ends up with a first team player or, more often than not some sort of profit in a few years time.

Coutinho is a massive outlier, but that only happens with that policy. He's also an outlier because neither Liverpool or United would want to sell a player that someone would pay £100m for.

Personally I ignore the net spend argument as it's not down to managerial genius, it's because the club run a side business in improving young players.

United will never sell anyone for really good money because you buy players like Ibrahimovic, Cavani rather than £8m kids with bubblegum feet from Inter Milan.

That Arsenal is team is not a good side. I don't think they will finish top 6 this season. We were absolutely awful and have been all season.

Just a bad day at the office, like it was against Palace, Spurs and Chelsea and nearly was against Brighton and Newcastle. Not to worry we’ve had plenty of good days in the office this season in the PL ……………………………………… oh

I didn't think we were bad at all. Arsenal were just a bit better but couldn't finish. In the end, if you had to give the game to one team, it would not have been us but one error and that was the difference.

There's a big difference between being awful and just getting beaten by a better team on the day.

And if 17 other teams turn out to be a lot, some or just a bit better than us over the season? 4 have already shown that and two others nearly did.
