Roy Hodgson admits VAR made the right call by disallowing James Tomkins' goal for Crystal Palace against Liverpool.

“There was a foul at the near post, Jordan did unfortunately push Lovren and VAR disallowed the goal.”
Fair play

Certainly 10x pressure in that push than the one on Zaha which won the free kick
Sorry but bks. If that’d been the other way round and a penalty had been given against you boys for a glancing touch against a huge 14 stone athlete that went down like a sack of spuds you’d be livid.

Also hilarious to see some of you praising Roy.

Yes I am a gutted and worried united fan. But ffs. You are getting some serious title winning luck. LiVARpool indeed.
Can someone explain why a goal being disallowed due to a push which was seen on camera, replayed and then confirmed, is luck?

"Today, a lady in Waitrose on the high street was caught shoplifting - the lady was seen on security cameras by staff who immediately apprehended her and stopped the theft. Police Inspector Var stated 'Waitrose are lucky they had cameras to stop the offense as it occurred and i feel that it is unfair on the lady to have been caught'. This is the 8th time in 3 months offenses have been committed against Waitrose and it is disappointing that their theft reductions are only achieved through shoplifters being caught in the act. Many feel that shoplifters should be able to get away with their crimes if a person hasnt seen it occur physically and relying on video cameras to stop offenses that are clearly happening isnt fair."
It’s a subjective opinion. Which is exactly why we are fking up VAR.,

Answer a different question. If that challenge had been Louvren on Kane and a pen was given you’d be happy? Would you bks.
Theres a difference between a subjective opinion and an objective decision

Would i be happy? Of course not.

Would i say they were lucky? No. Its not luck to commit a foul and then have the decision given against you.

You seem to believe luck is directly congruent with how happy you are with a decision.

You can be unhappy with a decision but believe it fair.

I’m up for the boxing so I’m far from sober but you’ve fked up subjective and objective when it comes to decision making in current football. But it’s worked for livarpool today. So understandable for you.

Nice use of congruent but you’re wrong. I don’t believe.

Your last line is correct. But also subjective when there’s and objective decision.

You were fking lucky to get that first goal disallowed. We’re you not? Of course you were. No VAR. that’s a goal.

You guys are flying. But the football you played today wasn’t representative of recent form. Palace nearly took points off you today. United have recently and they’re st apparently. Other teams will. There’s a long way to go.

But you fkers have quite the head start.

Constructive, intelligent response. Cheers.

I’ll stick to the boxing for the rest of the night. Then nip to Sheffield and watch my team tomorrow.

With quite a headache.

Not sure why you reacted to that post on particular.

Roy admits it’s a push, I was complimenting him for saying that rather than whinging and moaning. I don’t rate him as a top manager but he has always been a decent guy.

And did you see the push that led to the free kick?
Sorry mate wasn’t singling you out but the dice is certainly rolling your way right now.

The premier league is fking up VAR. right now you guys are benefiting. But these things balance out. I wait with baited breath for the balance.
You had those dice for 18 years, time to hand them over.

I've only just realised Sadio has gone for the full Robocop. Not sure if enforced or intentional.

Things I’ve leaned this season: only Liverpool can be deemed lucky for getting correct decisions.

Things I’ve confirmed so far this season: some people’s level of bitterness is off the scale.

Long may it continue hehe

Mane's goal was genuinely lucky. For the keeper to get a hand to it, tip it on to the post only for it to rebound across the goal line with just enough spin to take it over the line even though there was a defender right there trying to clear it? Yea, that's lucky!

There first goal was rightly ruled off for a foul. Nothing to do with luck.

There's an almost perfect correlation between the amount of luck a team gets and how good they are.

I love how it's OK against Liverpool to foul a player if there's a chance he wasnt getting the ball, the rules keep changing every week hehe
The ball only just went over Wijnaldums head and he was 2 yards in front of Lovren, there's a very good chance Lovren would have headed that ball yesterday not sure where all the talk he was nowhere near it is from, he's nowhere near as as he's falling over

Who the fk is happy when a pen is given against their side?

We have, in all honesty, been ste this season. hehe

We haven't got out of 2nd gear, we haven't battered anyone, we were very good against City, but when else have we performed to anywhere near the best of our ability?

And we have been lucky with decisions and situations, it's difficult to argue with that.

However, we are a great side, and haven't given up, not for one second, in any game, which is why we're top. smile

People go on about "what happens when our front three or vvd get injured"

I think they should worry about what happens when we start playing to our potential.

As for all this VAR stuff, it's clear that nearly all of the refs don't want it. This is head referee Mike Riley saying that VAR got it wrong four times: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50517096

Here's Wolves players Jota telling the ref the rules for waiting for VAR - he knows the guidelines better than the officials!!

They're trying to fk it up, they don't want it.

We're nearly always quite flat after the international break. We'll improve come February!

Yep.

I don’t think we’ve been that lucky. The handball last week, yes, but otherwise I think we’ve made our own luck (so to speak) with sheer desire and a never give up attitude.

The VAR bks being spouted by some is just that... bks... we’ve had enough tight decisions go against us.
